Alessandro, the host picked us up from the train station, which was extra tricky as the train had a delay due to a previous broken-down train on the tracks. He was great at trying to help us with the journey that wasn't as easy as planned because of the breakdown. It was reassuring to have his help. The house has amazing views, and the garden is a fabulous place to sit out and watch fantastic sunsets. The house is spacious, well equipped and the beds are super comfy. If there was anything needed, Alessandro sorted it out for us, e.g. we asked for a kettle (there was a coffee machine) and he provided it straight away. The house is on a hill, as the whole of the coastline is, we walked most days down to the town and once you reached the bike/pedestrian short cuts it was very easy, but the first bit is without a footpath, so you just need to take care. The walk home helped to use up some calories from all the great food we ate. Try Terrezza Alfonso for fresh fish and wonderful views, very good quality and excellent value for money. We didn't use the bus but did use the train to Sorrento, Pompeii and Naples, all easy and very good value for money. Alessandro provided a drop off into town for us on one occasion and he also helped us out with return to Naples Airport. If you need to get there outside business hours then please ask him to help with arranging this as the taxis to the airport can be pricy, he took us for a reasonable fee, especially as we had to leave very early in the morning! I cannot fault him in his efforts to make everything be peaceful and trouble free. A couple of other guests had said they didn't like the fact that he lives in a separate dwelling but on the same plot as Ville Fiore, this really is not an issue at all, as our privacy was completely respected. There is a supermarket very close by, and lots of places to eat in the town about 20mins walk. His mum's lemon sorbet, that was a welcome gift was fabulous.
The walk on the road without a footpath, but this is what all the towns are like. I have only mentioned it so you can plan taxis or bus if you don't want to walk or you have any mobility issues.
