Dana-Private Room in a shared duplex Apartment -1

First of all, as an introvert who travel alone, I am so happy I found this place. So comfy, and the location is just perfect, in the centre of Canberra and Canberra Centre is the neighbour. A lot of food and shopping option at the mall. At beginning, I thought this place will be so noisy because near the big mall, turns out its totally quiet even though so crowded outside of the mall I can cook and stay peacefully, just match with my personality. The balcony view is Mount Ainslie and totally stunning. Dana is so helpful and recommend a lot of things that I can do while stay in Canberra. If you looking for strategic place, this one is what are you looking for.

Dana is a hospitable host and is up for robust discussions on stuff that matters. The bed is exceedingly comfortable. Great location. Close to exceptional eateries and close to both places I had to go. Really good public transport. Beautiful park close by. Friendly locals.

If I had misplaced the fob, there would be no way of getting into the building and no way of contacting the host. Also I found it difficult to find on the first night because of many changes external to the building. You initially have to use four different codes. The little lock box the fob was in was hard to open.

Clean room in the centre of Canberra. Facilities were adequate. Host was friendly. Good price on a very busy Canberra weekend

Room was a bit cramped. General outside noise. Parking was extra but not always available

Complicated entry process: - 4 different digital locks (mailbox, key box, front door, bedroom door plus the lift tag) - the first lock in the mailbox was broken - It’s not obvious how to activate the front door digital entry pad - The bedroom lock is confusing with two numbers on each button Took over 10 mins to manage to access the room from street! The host was generally quite rude. Their communications focus on how much you will be fined for various misdemeanours whilst the entry instructions are over complicated and require a lot of scrolling back through the message to find the entry code you need. 4pm check in is too late considering 10 check out. Earlier check is available but costs 10 dollars per hour! No option to drop bags ahead of the 4pm check in. We were told there was no space available and to use a city locker (not easy with a large pack) Although they could have easily been left in the apartment outside the bedroom door. Oven was not working and the kitchen wasn’t very clean . Lounge carpet and sofa need a good vacuum. Disappointing overall. Wished I had paid a bit more for a hotel with better customer service.
