Summary:
Welcome to the Salty Mae - a HomeBody Rentals property! Fully restored 1910 duplex in the heart of Cape May, perfect for families or groups up to 10. You’ll have the entire home to yourselves: two fully separate floors, each with private entrances, kitchens, bedrooms, and baths. Relax together on the front porch or gather in the backyard for cool nights by the fire pit.
The Space:
Duplex, with 2 separate units/floors, rented as an entire home.
Each unit has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath, living space, dining, and TV.
Fully equipped kitchens and linens are provided.
*In total we have 4 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, 2 Kitchens, 2 Living Rooms.
*3 King Beds, 1 Queen Bed, 1 Queen Pull out Sofa bed (First Floor Living Room only).
*Front Porch with sectional sofa and rocking chairs
*Back yard with gas fire pit and BBQ and outdoor shower
*All linens (except beach towels) are included
*8 Beach Chairs, Umbrella, Beach Cart
*4 Bikes
*8 Beach Tags
*Fully Equipped Kitchens with Coffee, Tea, Salt & Pepper, Olive Oil, Paper Products, Trash Bags, etc
*Washer and Dryer with laundry detergent
Guest Access:
Guests have use of the entire house, both floors, back yard and porch.
Duplex with 2 separate floors with private entrances. The units do not connect internally.
The Neighborhood:
Historic District of Cape May, walking distance to beach and center of town.
Getting Around:
Park your car and walk to the beach and center of town! Or Bike! We provide you with 4.
Free street parking is available.
Other Things to Note:
Our home shares a common driveway/walk way with our neighbor. This area is not for parking. You may unload your vehicle here and then park on the street for the duration of your stay.
We have 2 TVs that are WIFI enabled for your streaming App Providers. You can log into your personal account (i.e. Netflix) and stream your favorite shows!! Or you can also watch some of the free channels that are provided via our TV network. Please note we do not have regular cable.
First Floor has 2 bedrooms with King Beds and 1 queen pull out sofa bed in the living room.
Second Floor has 2 bedrooms, 1 King Bed and 1 Queen Bed.
Please remember to bring your beach towels as we do not provide beach towels.
No pets.
The outdoor patio furniture located on the front porch is put away during the winter months.
Upon confirmation of your reservation, a check-in form with a secure link will be sent (via text) to collect info and a $500 security deposit hold. The hold is taken upon your arrival and released one day after check out.

We loved our stay at Salty Mae! My family of 7 went for a week for our mom's birthday. The location is great - short walking distance to many restaurants, shops and the beach. The hosts are wonderful and very responsive. They have provided just about everything you could need: beach chairs, umbrella, beach tags, bikes and plenty of laundry detergent and dryer sheets. We really enjoyed the covered front porch, it was ideal for sitting outside most anytime of day. The house has a lot of special touches and is really nicely decorated.Very homey! Like the other reviewer points out, the floors are completely separate but this was fine for our group. The pillows are a bit firm as previously stated as well. I would recommend bringing a pillow if this is an issue for you. Otherwise, everything was top notch and we would definitely stay here again!

It's important to recognize, as stated in the description, that this is a duplex with 2 separate units in one house. For the upstairs unit, you use a side entrance outside; there is no internal continuity between them. That was fine for our needs, though for some it may have an impact on the sense of "togetherness". It is a very nice place, recently updated, close to all the lovely old architecture, and 4 blocks from the beach. We only used our car a couple times, but walked to the beach and several great restaurants. We never had to park (street parking only) farther away than next door. A beach cart, umbrella, chairs and passes are provided, though beach towels are not, so bring those. The downstairs unit is bigger, and there is a nice front porch, so you can rely on the downstairs for accommodating your whole crowd for meals and entertainment, though the upstairs also has a small kitchen, living area, and even a small office space. My only complaint is the pillows on the beds, which are super firm. I'm a bit picky about my soft down pillow at home, but I don't think any of my family could actually sleep with our heads on them. I would gladly stay here again, just with my own pillow.
