The single beds were so hard mattress that sleep was difficult!

Super comfortable apartment, very modern with a great location in walkable distance to the city center. Facilites very clean and quite new as well.

We liked how close it was to Birmingham town centre and that there was a parking space included. It also worked out at £20 a night for each of us which was fantastic. The beds were comfy and clean, each room had fans in and plugs for charging phones overnight - near the bed as well which is always helpful. The host was helpful and easy to get hold of and if you're travelling as one group who will always leave the flat and come back together, then the lock box and one key is fine for that. The wifi was speedy and the water pressure in the showers was good too. If you're looking for a very cheap place and you're not too fussy, this is fine.

Now we know it only worked out as £20 a night but I completely disagree with the "recently refurbed" claim on the listing. As you will see in the photos, there was black mould in one of the bathrooms (the extractor fan didn't work) including on the shower curtain, the front of the oven has fallen off, the carpet didn't reach the edges of the room properly and there were holes and marks on pretty much every surface. Yes you can expect quality that for £20 a night but the "recently refurbed" is a bit misleading in my opinion. If you are travelling as friends like we were, two couples, and want to leave and return to the flat at different times, only having one key is a huge faff and best avoided. Lastly, we chose it because it had a lift and one of our party is physically disabled with an injury however the lift kept making loud bangs and on the first day it stopped working while we were in it which was extremely distressing. It started up after a less than a minute but from then on we had to walk up and down the stairs because we didn't trust it. Not good. It is possibly to do with the weight or something as there was four of us in the lift and this isn't the hosts fault, but if you absolutely cannot use the stairs, don't choose this flat with the dodgy lift just in case.
