オーナーさんも本当に気さくな方で、とにかくお心遣いが嬉しかったです！家電もなんでも揃っていて、快適に滞在できました！お部屋も広すぎるくらいに広く、絶対にまた来たいと思います！ 島の人たちも優しくて、いいところでした。

BBQが庭ででき、ドラム型洗濯機や、シャンプー、リンス、歯みがき粉なども色々なものが揃っていて、とても快適に過ごせて、身体の疲れもとれました！最高な旅行となりました!心遣いが素晴らしくて、また利用したいです！

- Really spacious place for the same price as a capsule room in Hakone (i.e. a great deal) that only gets better as you stay longer because of the one-time cleaning fee. - Lots of traditional Japanese features (dirt floor kitchen, hallway facing the garden) that really make the place feel authentic (and it is!), with antiques from up to 190 years ago scattered around the garden and storage rooms. These are supplemented with comforting modern decor, and all the gadgets you need like a rice cooker and dishwasher. - The owner is super responsive. I butt-dialed him at 2:20am and he answered within three rings. Even though I was living here alone, I felt safe because I knew I could reach him if anything happened. - So, so many free amenities, including two types of face mask, four types of body wash, six or seven types of snacks, four types of incense, three guitars, and the list goes on. Everything I could think of, and some things I wouldn't have thought of as well. - Very quiet, excepting birdsong, and great for unwinding. - The host was kind enough to take me foraging for kame-no-te on the beach, then went into the hills with a sickle to get bamboo shoots, and cooked them both up for me while we chatted. It was lovely and very tasty. - The island is absolutely beautiful, and full of wildlife. Land crabs everywhere outside, crows and kites, and fruit trees that you can eat straight off of. There was a biwa tree outside full of fruit, and yamamomo trees further out, while I was staying there, and the owner informs me that in other seasons there are mandarins, oranges and watermelons. - The owner will bring you anything you need from the mainland before your stay, or during your stay if it's over the weekend/on his day off. - The owner acts on feedback very quickly (see below). Overall I had a wonderful time here, and I'd definitely come and stay again!

- Acting on feedback (positive): I saw mice my first night. When I told the owner, he was there the next morning with repellent and glue traps on top of the barbeque I'd ordered. When I seemed surprised that the barbeque set was 4000 yen, which seemed like a lot (since he hadn't stated the price before I ate it), he offered to treat me to more food (Marugame chicken) to make up for it, and also arranged for me to be taken on a guided tour of the island for free (normally worth 3000 yen), which included invitation-only areas I'd expressed curiosity about. When I said the floors were dirty, he stayed back while I was on the tour to clean them thoroughly. - The paid amenities (e.g. rice 150 yen/cup) were expensive, but understandably so for a remote island. - I asked if there was miso before I got there, and he said yes, but when I arrived I found it had expired in 2023. When I pointed this out to him he directed me to a bottle of seasoned miso, but generally the fridge was full of expired things (slightly more than half of everything inside), including a bottle of fruit tea cordial (exp. 2021) that I drank some of before I realised. - The sliding doors were often hard to slide. - Futon and beanbag + mayfly season = crawling on me. - Even an hour after the host cleaned, the floors were covered in stuff again. It was mostly dead bugs, or tiny beige pellets (many of these) that disintegrated into powder after applying pressure. I think the pellets indicate there's something wrong with the roof. - The owner only checked one of the traps while he was cleaning, so I was faced with three living, struggling mice in total. I ended up killing them myself with a hatchet rather than leaving them to starve before he returned to the island in a week. Ultimately that was my choice, but it wasn't pleasant, and I wish he'd checked while he was here, or used cage or snap traps instead. (The hatchet I used was, of course, provided by the guesthouse.

伝統的な古民家の魅力を活かしつつ日常に必要な家電や家具が用意されていたこと。庭も家も広く快適に滞在できました。小さい子供を連れた家族には最適でした。オーナーさんもとても親切で、車での送迎や急な自転車の修理をしてくださるなど大変助かりました。
