About this house rental
A single-story villa from the mid-20th century, recently renovated for perfect comfort while fully maintaining its original design. This signature family home was designed by the renowned Portuguese architect Francisco Conceição e Silva, with approximately 200 m2 of living space on a 2,400 m2 plot, ideal for family holidays or getaways with friends.
It has 5 bedrooms, one of which is a suite, and 3 bathrooms. There is also a sofa bed in the bedroom hallway, with blinds.
The large room with its wooden ceiling, fireplace, and large windows offering unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside and mountains creates an inspiring, romantic, and relaxed atmosphere, where one can glimpse Pena Palace, one of the 7 Wonders of Portugal and an UNESCO World Heritage site, and the Moorish Castle on the horizon.
At home you can enjoy the pool and garden, or you can walk to the beach or go for nature walks, all within a 5-10 minute walk from the house. In the surrounding area you will find...
Restaurants, shops and services are available. Both the village of Colares and the picturesque village of Azenhas do Mar are just a 5-minute drive or motorbike away. Praia Grande beach is only a 10-minute walk away.
You'll enjoy cooking at home, and you can have your meals in the comfort of the garden or the love seats in the house. You can take advantage of fresh produce from the Praia das Maçãs market, just a 2-minute drive or motorbike away. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher and washing machine, SMEG stove and oven, refrigerator, microwave, and coffee machine.
Although it is not usually necessary in the summer given the mild temperatures in the region, the bedrooms have air conditioning, as do the living room, the bedroom hallway and the kitchen.

This home is stunning. Rita and her family welcomed us and showed us around, which was very helpful and immediately helped us feel at ease and at home. Four adults and one child were in our group and we all had plenty of space. The kitchen had all we needed to prepare our own meals, even a dishwasher. We were able to do our laundry before traveling again, which was great. We used the pool literally every day of our stay. The outdoor space was like The Secret Garden. It was hard to want to leave because the space was just so magical, but Praia Grande was walking distance away with great waves and a huge sandy beach, and Azenhas do Mar was only a 5 minute drive and our go to place to have a drink and watch the sun set. There’s also a grocery store just five minutes down the road with everything you could need from cleaning supplies to octopus. The TV had Netflix and Disney Jr., so something for everyone. The AC works great and is room specific, so if that’s a filter on your search like it was for us, know that this place will be a perfect temperature for you! We would love to stay here again.

This is a wonderful house that has everything you need for a comfortable stay! The kitchen is well-equipped with all the necessary items for cooking, making meal preparation easy and enjoyable. The large living room is perfect for spending evenings with friends and family—there’s plenty of space for everyone. The pool and beautifully maintained garden are a special delight, offering the perfect place to relax outdoors. The rooms are cozy and inviting, ensuring a good night’s rest, and the modern TV allows you to enjoy favorite movies.

We had a lovely stay in Rita's beautiful house. We stayed eight nights between 9th - 17th August. There were eight of us for part of our stay, 5 adults and 3 kids. There was enough room for everybody. Shared spaces like living/dining room, hall, corridors & kitchen are great sizes. Four bedrooms have double beds in them. Fifth bedroom has a single. There is also a foldout sofa on the landing. The place was clean and had everything we needed. The pool was at the front of the property. The outdoor space is lovely and the views are amazing.The area was very quiet and a walk to the beach doesn't take longer than 10min. I would really recommend Rita's house and the area to anyone thinking of visiting this part of Portugal.
