Great bathing opportunities are not far away, and thanks to its size, every place on the entire island is within walking distance. There are also shopping opportunities nearby, including many different specialties from the small Danish island in the farm stores. Furthermore, a visit to Brummers Gaard is always an experience. There you can also hire bicycles, sea kayaks, fishing nets and handcarts. The Aarø winery also invites you to a relaxing evening where you can taste the locally grown wine or arrange a wine tasting. The nature is also unique, and a large, untouched area is set aside as a bird sanctuary where you can take long walks. The ferry Helene docks at Aarø, which means you can take a wonderful trip across the fjord to Hadersleben. Hadersleben is a charming old town with specialty stores, cultural events and museums.
