Stroll through the tall pine forest of Pineto on the Teramo coast while you breathe in the intoxicating mixture of sea, salt and pine trees. The pine forest of Roseto degli Abruzzi also provides pleasant shade and the picturesque nature reserve of Borsacchio is one of the most fascinating places on the Abruzzo coast. If you prefer cycling, in Pescara you will find the 1300 km long Adriatic cycle path, Corridoio Verde Adriatico, which for a brief moment gives you the feeling of cycling along the beach in a green-lined corridor. Other excursion destinations include the medieval towns of Lanciano and Crecchio and the coastal town of Ortona. If you don't mind a slightly longer ride, the Maiella National Park is definitely worth a visit.
