Nice little house just where we needed to be -
The parking was the most difficult - wet busy on the street

Excellent location for exploring historic Lincoln while also being quiet and peaceful. Very clean and tidy. Good, tasteful colour scheme throughout the house. Good facilities. Managed to get parked right outside the house (but could imagine this might not always be easy, particularly for two cars).
The bed in the back bedroom, on the side nearest the window, had a lump under my back. As I sleep on my side, it didn't bother me but could be a bit uncomfortable to someone sleeping in a different position. Lack of hand towel rail in the bathroom and hooks for clothes. The key box is difficult to see and had to ring the owners for the code.
Minor points which didn't detract from the stay but are meant as constructive criticism - far too many emails about the stay obscuring useful information such as the code for the key box (though part of this might be a Booking.com problem); language about the stay a bit gushing (also, as you never meet the hosts, I would say that they are not really 'welcoming' you) and spelling needs addressing (apostrophes! - wed instead of we'd, cant instead of can't); don't set out the crockery on the dining table -first thing that needs to be done is put it away, which is annoying; some of the wall 'hangings' could be dispensed with - the 'quotes' and the flower arrangements; drop the full description of who the property is for from all the headings - Cecil House is perfectly fine.

Lovely house in a great location .
Ideal for visiting uphill Lincoln .
We had a couple of minor issues with housekeeping. Nothing that would stop us going back again

Location and property is fantastic, would definitely book again, café at the end of the road and many restaurants nearby. Great pets are allowed! One issue is parking, if you are lucky you get a space otherwise finding a spot takes a while in nearby carparks.

Very good location which was close to all the sights, shops and restaurants we wanted to see.
There was an ashtray full of cigarette buts in the garden, which could have been emptied, some hoover equipment not tidied away and the duvet for the sofa bed was only a single and poor quality.
That said it didn’t prevent us from having a lovely comfortable time.
Thank you

Excellent location near to Cathedral and Castle. Parking was on street. It was always busy but we always found a space near the house. We didn't use the kitchen facilities (only boiled the kettle) but it looked well equipped. Lots of lovely Yorkshire tea! The house was close to many restaurants/pubs and a farm shop. Brought back yummy pork loin and sausages! Lincoln has much more to see than we expected (but maybe because we hadn't done our homework before the trip). The Castle has a prison and a copy of the Magna Carta which was a bonus. The included tour of the Cathedral was also worthwhile. Lots of info we wouldn't have spotted if we had just wandered around by ourselves.

A really pleasant stay, on-street parking was handy.
If you have mobility or balance problems, be mindful that both bedrooms and the bathroom to this property is up quite a steep staircase.

Proximity to the castle and Bailgate was perfect for our visit. Place was clean and tidy, beds and sofas were comfortable, we loved having a coffee sat in the garden area as the weather was particularly good. Liked the little touches, milk in the fridge, tea, coffee and even breakfast if wanted, as well as toiletries should you need them.
We were warned about the boiler not working properly and was informed that it would work if it was turned off then on again, however we still only managed to have a cold wash in the shower in morning, at least it was a lovely warm day outside so didn’t seem too bad, but would hate this happening on a cold day!
There was a small bit of black mould along the silicone sealant corner of bath under the shower, this could be easily rectified.

Little Gem. Lovely comfortable home for the weekend. Clean, nicely decorated. Cosy little garden with table and chairs. Location excellent. We were at the concert at the castle and this was a 5 min walk. Even had swan towels on the bed. Little treat of chocolate and drinks on arrival. Highly recommend. Will stay again
Nothing negative to say about this place

I came to Cecil house with my partner for one night and I have to say the communication from the start was excellent.
The property was Modern and very clean and in the heart of Lincoln.
We were only a 3-5 mins walk to the cathedral and the town centre - the property also came with free parking which is great as the town centre is a very busy area.
We would definitely book this property again when we return to Lincoln.
Nothing.
