This large apartment is very well located in a nice neighborhood of Athens, on the 5th (and last floor) of the building, and has a huge terrace. There’s a washing machine and a robot vacuum cleaner which we used twice. Communication with the host was fantastic, they were very reactive and always replied immediately. We had an issue to connect to wifi through a laptop and they helped us until the problem was solved.

The apartment was not very clean when we arrived (especially the furnitures, windows, mirrors and the terrace) and looks a bit out of date. The host suggested to send the cleaning company for a follow-up but we refused because there were cleaning products and a robot vacuum cleaner in the apartment, and we didn’t mind cleaning it a bit ourselves. The kitchen and the bathroom are rather old and outdated, but we didn’t mind.

The location was central. The staff was kind easy to reach

The location is nice — very central and convenient — and the host was kind and responsive throughout our communication, which we appreciated. Unfortunately, the apartment itself did not meet our expectations. The photos on Booking.com appear heavily edited and do not reflect the true condition of the space. The apartment felt dated and lacked the cleanliness and comfort we expect when booking a stay. Cleanliness was a particular issue: floors were dirty on arrival, the cleaning tools provided (like the vacuum robot and mop) were in poor condition, and there was visible dust and mold, especially in the bathroom. We had to buy our own small vacuum cleaner during the stay, which is not something we’ve ever had to do while on holiday. Another major downside was the lack of air conditioning in the bedroom. Despite a previous response from the host stating this would be addressed, it was still unresolved during our late May stay. We were told the living room AC would cool the entire apartment, but the bedroom is too far for that to be effective. We ended up sleeping in the living room, which affected our ability to use the space during the day. Additionally, the bed initially only had an over-mattress instead of a proper mattress — although this was eventually replaced. This property may still be undergoing updates, but that should be clearly communicated in the listing. At present, the description and photos create expectations that are not aligned with reality, which led to disappointment.
