The Retreat @The Outside Inn

The quite location and really nice decoration. The hot tub adds value to the property. Really good to relax.

I believe it could have a place for us to sit and have a meal. We were 4 and only 2 high chairs to sit and eat. In the sofa area maybe a low table. Just an idea. Sofa bed very uncomfortable but manageable to sleep 2 nights.

It was so quirky and felt really luxurious… was the perfect place for a couples chilled night! x

All was perfect for us!

The set up, hotub and feel of the place (especially at night with the outside lighting). Inside was well appointed and clean. The managers/owners were very prompt at responding when I had issues with the lighting to begin with. The vision for the pods is great, and looks like they are in the process of expanding which a larger pod being built which would be fab for groups/families.

The outside bbq area was showing a lot of wear and dirt. No bbq cleaner and limited utensils, and discolouration of woodwork (mould) where the wood needs to be retreated. The seating and fencing also need some love (painting and sorting large gaps where the gate is too small for opening) and there was old roof felt and broken items literally dumped to the rear of the pod. Which we wouldn’t have seen except that we had to go to the fuse board when we had the issue with the lighting. I think the outside area isn’t maintained by the cleaning crew (unlike the inside) and the emphasis is on guests to keep this area tidy (fire pit, hot tub etc) which is fine for the most part but not everyone has the same standards. We could see mouldy tea towel, vape etc under the pallet seating area. At night the imperfections were not as noticeable and I still think it was a good little find for the price.

It was spoilt with no cushions or anywhere comfortable to sit while using firepit which was one of the main attraction for the booking
