Floor needed to be mopped, feet turned black walking around bare foot. Lots of per hair every very. Super dusty room especially the ceiling far. The bed was horrible and ruined our stay, it must have been 20+ years old. The bed was broken with springs sticking out, covered in blood and other stains, and the sheets it was made with didn't fit. The bed frame was broke with nails sticking out that scratched us. Horrible nights sleep but we didn't want to pay for another room somewhere else. Would not recommend staying here.

This property had a huge cleanliness issue. I don’t think he’s ever cleaned. He just picks up the obvious things when guest leaves and makes the beds. The bedding was dirty and stained. The floors were swept and mopped. There was multiple debris and old food left under most of the beds that is clearly been there for months. The towels were basically brown, and they should’ve been white.

Amazing Stay – Highly Recommended! We had an incredible time at this vacation rental! The place was beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The beds were super cozy, and the view from the balcony was absolutely stunning—perfect for morning coffee or evening wine. The host was very responsive and provided great recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. The location was ideal—close to the village and restaurants and plenty of activities, yet quiet enough for a relaxing getaway. Overall, it exceeded our expectations, and we can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful, well-equipped, and charming place to stay!

We got there and we’re having trouble getting into our RESERVED cabin. The owner gave our cabin to another group with no warning. So we were placed in a single bed cabin (myself and my 6’1” son) that smelled so heavy of stale smoke it was nauseating:( all of things smelled and our eyes burned. The lady who ended up assisting us to get in, was very very nice! It was just the switch of last minute accommodations that really made our stay awful:( the cabin needs to be fumigated.

Arrived at the property at 8 PM. Nobody on site all weekend! Door code was texted but other renters arriving over the weekend had issues getting in. I looked in the drawers of the kitchenette and in two of them there was mouse poop (with some shredded seasoning packets) and ants. I called to report the problem. I didn’t hear back for 16 hours, but the reply was “thanks for the information” and told that housekeeping could go over to the cottage right then, but I asked if they could wait a couple hours. I got no immediate response as to when they would show. When I later texted them some six hours later the management said that housekeeping had knocked which was not true bc one of my party was there that time. I heard nothing for another 16 hours but received a text saying that housekeeping was no longer on premises. The management asked if I wish to switch cabins which I was open to, but I asked follow up questions about the number of beds,etc, but another two hours went by without full answers and I was told there were now none available to swap. The text exchange got heated: the management told me to stop harassing him and if the conditions were so bad I should leave the rental early. Other people at the property who booked through other travel services reported dirty cabins. There is a for sale site on the property and I think the owner does not care about the property anymore so do not book! They do not answer a 2nd number and in fact took down the sign with the #s

Unable to check in at 03:10, because nobody answered the phone to provide the access code. I call the emergency number and they told me to wait until 04:30 when the manager arrives. The room was dirty and the heater was it working.

I wish I could give this place zero stars. My stay at Fox N Bear Cottages was beyond disappointing. First off, the listing mentioned a fireplace and a microwave, yet there was no fireplace and no microwave. When I brought up these issues to the front desk, the staff was rude and completely unhelpful, acting like I was bothering them just for expecting what was advertised. To make matters worse, there were no blankets—just thin sheets on the bed. It was freezing at night, and the only heater in the cabin smelled like it was burning, so I couldn’t even use it safely. On top of that, the remote for the TV was missing, so I had to download an app just to use it. But somehow, someone else’s remote kept connecting to our TV, causing it to change channels, turn off randomly, and adjust the volume on its own—extremely frustrating. Overall, this stay was a nightmare. Between the false advertising, terrible customer service, and lack of basic amenities, I would never recommend this place to anyone. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else!

The cabin was not clean. We wanted to light a fire, but the fireplace was full of soot. All the furniture was run down and handles missing from drawers. There was dust on the tv ad the ceiling fans and mold in the bathroom. The bathroom tub did not drain. The wifi was horrible and kept going out. The heater did not work in the unit. It was 29 degrees that night. The dinky space heaters dod nothing, could not feel the heat. Cabin #2. The unit next to was was attached and they were partying and drinking until 2am. I would not recommend this property again. It needs a re-model and cabin #2 needs attention to detail with cleaning.

The cabin was clean but smelled. Fireplace chimney needs to be sweeped. Build up in chimney forced some smoke into cabin. Managers cabin not labeled well. When I called the number on website no one answered..only a voice message that said the cabins were closed due to a fire! Emailed owner and they never replied. Had a last minute urgent meeting and manager called owner to authorize cancelation of 2nd night. Owner punted to Expedia. He agreed but Expedia website said no refunds. Two ships passing in the night. I was screwed out of 2nd night. Emailed owner via Expedia and they ignored me. I do not recommend this locale.

We found this property at a great price after looking around expedia. Read some reviews and thought they were ok, maybe a bit mixed. Finidng the place was pretty simple. Checking in was interesting. I walked around the cottages to find the "office". On the door was a number for 24/7 check in. I called it and the lady answered and asked if i was here. She opened the door and told us to come inside. I assume that was her living space/office. We walked in and it was a bit weird being in there, but whatever. She gave us the wifi password and the room door combo. Parking was nice and easy as there were spots designated for everyone. #2 was our cottage. Inside the room smelled like smoke due to the fireplace. After making a fire ourselves both nights, smoke filled the room(yes the port was open inside the fireplace), so the chiminey probably wasnt cleaned out on the inside and the windows had to be opened to help ventilate. The room was clean overall and very cozy. No worries about being cold overnight. The bed was super comfy as well as the couch. The lady brought us extra towels as well. There was a hair dryer, towels and shampoos. All the kitchen appliances and utencils as well as plates and cups were a plus. We had to clean some forks and cups as they were still a bit dirty. There was also leftover ice cream in the freezer from a stay before. The tv channels were plentiful as there were lots of free app options and movies. She hung up on me during check out, so we left at 1030.
