Had a great weekend in big bear, brought our dog, place was cute and walking distance to restaurants and bars. Staff was very friendly.

I think this place is decent for the price - it's basically a nice motel. The "Swim Club" element is over-marketed, as when we visited in February 2025, the swimming area wasn't appealing at all. Windows were open, so the room temperature was about equal to the outdoors (i.e., in the 40s), and the hot tub was barely functioning. I dipped my toe in, and sensing it was about 95 degrees, decided not to use it. That's fine for a pool, but it's not warm enough for a hot tub. The jets were also very weak, making it doubly unappealing. On the plus side, the rooms were decent, and the bed was surprisingly comfortable - if you like firm mattresses. Note that the location isn't that appealing (it's basically behind a number of other commercial buildings), but it is within walking distance of the downtown area, so that is a big plus if you're looking to get around a bit without using a car.

Great place, nicely redone, pet friendly and in a great location. We enjoyed our stay and will absolutely stay here again! Everyone was friendly and accommodating Pool and spa was not open yet. Can’t wait to stay again and try it out!!
