Welcome to Water's Edge Cottage, part of Sunset Shores Resort, hosted by Simple Life Rentals. Nestled along 200 feet of Kangaroo Lake waterfront, guests will enjoy swimming, water sports and fishing in the 1100-acre glacier-formed lake.
This cozy retreat offers 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, main living space, fully stocked kitchen, and an enclosed porch.
This property allows up to 2 well-behaved dogs. There is an additional fee collected at booking.
The seasonally installed dock accommodates guest's boats, with a nearby boat launch. The pier also provides a stunning view of sunsets. Guests will also enjoy shared amenities such as a fire pit with chairs and firewood, green space, sand box and swing set.

+ Watercraft docking is allowed and at renter’s risk
+ Water is approximately 2-3 feet deep at end of dock
+ Shore is rocky and water gradually deepens to about 10 feet
+ Lake is good for swimming
+ Public Kangaroo Lake boat ramp is approximately 400 feet away

2 parking spots in driveway, which includes room for a trailer

• Bed linens, pillows, blankets, and bathroom towels. (Please bring your own beach towels)
• A starter pack of essentials which includes toilet paper, paper towel, dish soap, dishwasher soap, hand soap, and garbage bags. Due to septic systems, we do not provide facial tissue. One each of travel size shampoo, conditioner, and body wash per full bathroom.
• PEACE OF MIND Damage protection covers up to $1000 per stay for accidental damage that is reported prior to departure (excludes any pet damage).

The property is truly right on the lake. The view is amazing. The lake is literally a few steps down the back deck. I love the rock edge to the lake. No sand to drag in. The fire pit with wood is fabulous. The dock is great. Our dog loved playing in the lake. Plenty of room for a dog tether while you are outside.
The house itself isn't bad, but could use a little more care. The kitchen has a very small amount of counter space. Kitchen table could use refinishing. There is a sort of musty order inside. Bring some Febreeze, it helps. More lighting would help in the living room and bedrooms. Those rooms are small so maybe smaller furniture in the bedroom with the queen size bed. Really needs some sort of bed side table on both sides of the bed. Rooms are dark so lightening them up would help and probably replace the carpeting. That might help with the musty smell also.

Overall the property was lovely. The views were beautiful. Great sunsets. Small but quaint. Lovely setting. However, there were several issues that were due to the written description and instructions. For example, the instructions said put the dishes in the dishwasher before you leave but there was no dishwasher. The starting packet had dishwasher tablet and tablet for washing machine but neither existed. We had to prop the windows open with the toilet brush. Not all the electrical outlets worked and not all the fans worked. We were grateful it cooled off at night to make sleeping easier. We met one of the owners and he seemed very nice and friendly.
