About this house rental
Located on the Acadia National Park Carriage Road system, this home allows you to explore the park right from the back door! We have a new construction, 3400 sq ft home within steps of ANP. Walk our private trail right onto the Carriage Road System. You are also just a quick 12 min drive right into downtown Bar Harbor or a 1 mile walk to Seal Harbor Beach or a mile walk or bike ride to the infamous Jordan Pond House! Enjoy the perfect location away from it all with quick access to the highlights of Mount Desert Island. The is a large home with every amenity you could hope for. With one bedroom and full bath on the main floor and four bedrooms and two baths on the second floor, there is plenty of room for your whole family. The large great room features a beautiful wood paneled vault ceiling and quiet views into Acadia National Park. The dining room has seating for12, plus more seating at the large kitchen island. The kitchen is designed for cooking and has lots of space for multiple cooks to work together. We have outfitted the kitchen with all the essentials! If you don't want to spend your time eating indoors, take advantage of the large grill and enjoy dinner on the large deck looking into the park. The front porch is the perfect spot for a quiet cup of coffee or listening to the ocean during a storm. The unfinished basement is ready for play and relaxation with couches, games and a large screen tv. Reservations will be fully refundable until final furnished photos are posted in mid May.
Seal Harbor is the secret gem of Mount Desert Island, located just a quick drive to Bar Harbor, but well outside the hustle and bustle so you can escape from it all. This home is as close as you can stay to the park without camping! The great room looks back into the serene woods of Acadia and you can enjoy our private trail that takes you right to the Carriage Trail system. You can walk, ride or run to the famous Jordan Pond House and never have to fight for parking! It is also a short walk to shops in Seal Harbor, The Lighthouse restaurant and Seal Harbor Beach. Northeast Harbor is also a short drive away where you can find more quaint shops and restaurants. Seal Harbor has a stop on the Island Explorer Route for convenient access during peak season. Our home also has a Level 2 EV charger available for guest use for a small additional fee.

Excellent kitchen facilities, and excellent group spaces… Really enjoyable to all be able to sit together in the living room and I’ll eat together at the dining table. We also loved being able to hike directly into the park from the back of the property.

If you are looking for a great location to Jordon pond and Arcadia with a large group this home is perfect! Hiking can start right out the back door as it did for our son who hiked Penobscot with pemetic. Our 6 year old Grandson really enjoyed our after dinner visits to Seal Harbor beach, great tide pools. We walked there and someone would drive the van and park to take us back. We all all enjoyed our dinner at the light house inn and restraunt very walkable. We never needed to use the basement or TVs we had an almost perfect 10 weather week for outdoor hiking and exploring. Jen was very reachable with any questions we had.

We just got back from our annual family vacation. The house was wonderful for 11 of us. Everything is well stocked - towels, bedding and kitchen supplies. We were happy to find an assortment of spices, oil etc which is not always the case at other rentals. The beds were comfortable. Kids loved the basement for playing and the great assortment of games. I’m a clean freak and the house was spotless upon arrival. Jen and Brian were super responsive when I txted we had no power. ( It was a neighborhood outage.). They followed up with info and checked in to be sure we had power back on. All the pics online are accurate and recent. The home is new. The access to the carriage trails makes this so worthwhile. The day we drove into Acadia to do the Jordan Trail we couldn’t find parking and ended up walking as far as if we had gone (walked) from the house. The area is stupendous. Read the guide they send to you. Chock full of good info. We learned the hard way not using the Acadia map they recommended and got lost. Acadia Park maps are poor. We all loved this trip and house! The property was beautiful, brand new. It's very close to Bar Harbor, super convenient. Had fun playing ping pong and corn hole in the basement. Property has 3 bathrooms, but only the master has a connected bath. The downstairs bath was next to the room with the murphy bed, which wasn't ideal. FYI, for those of you flying in, there is NO shampoo, laundry detergent, or Keurig cups, so you must stop at the grocery. We loved our stay, and if we'd stayed longer, we would have walked more on the carriage road (or rented bikes). The carriage roads were very peaceful. The front porch has 3 rocking chairs (a great place for a cup of coffee in the morning. We would stay here again absolutely!
