Pemabwe Guest Lodge

I came to Harare for a theatre festival and ended up finding Pemabwe after a somewhat chaotic start to the trip. I am genuinely so grateful I did, because this place has somehow impressed me more with each day I’ve stayed here. The staff are the real standout. Everyone has been warm, patient, attentive, and incredibly kind, but what I appreciate most is that the hospitality feels genuine rather than performative. They pay attention. One morning I was visibly stressed and rushing out the door for work. I hadn’t asked for anything, but the staff noticed and quietly packed breakfast for me to take with me. It was such a simple gesture, but honestly, that is hospitality. Nobody had to do it. They just saw what I needed and helped. I also had a slightly ridiculous booking situation involving separate reservations and moving into a larger suite partway through my stay, and the team handled all of it with patience and zero drama. At no point did I feel like I was inconveniencing anyone. The rooms have been spacious, extremely comfortable, clean, and peaceful. My suite has a kitchen and enough space that I’ve actually been able to work, take meetings, write, decompress between festival events, and have colleagues stop by. When you are traveling for work, that difference is enormous. A hotel room stops being somewhere you simply sleep and becomes your little headquarters. The location has also been extremely convenient for getting around Harare, while the property itself feels quiet and removed from the chaos of the day. What I think Pemabwe gets especially right is something that is surprisingly hard to find: they understand that comfort is not necessarily about extravagance. It is about the small things being handled properly. A clean room. A good shower. A peaceful place to work. Staff who remember you, notice things, answer questions, and make your day easier instead of adding another problem to solve. I travel quite a bit, and I can be particular about hotels, so I do not say this lightly: Pemabwe has been wonderful. More than anything, I have felt genuinely looked after here. I would absolutely stay again.

Very nice facilities. I will be back...!!!
