Cabaña Finca el Cortez’s was about a 15 minute drive from La Fortuna in the middle of a jungle like setting. We had a spectacular view of Mount Arenal. The back deck had a bar like shelf and bar stools as well as a couch and a wooden bench. There were plenty of options to sit and watch all of the birds and wildlife there. Our host has a platform below us that he had bananas and papaya for the birds to feed on. We saw many different birds, including 7 or 8 makaws flying over the canopy one morning while having coffee on the deck. Although we didn’t use it much, the kitchen was well stocked for preparing your own meals. The entire Cabaña was constructed of beautiful woods by the owner. The water pressure in the shower was very good.

The pillows on the bed were quite hard. Although I was fine with them, my husband needed to buy some pillows. Once the day starts to heat up the cicadas in the surrounding bush get very, very loud.

Lugar muy rustico, en plena naturaleza. Una maravilla dormir con todos los sonidos que emite la naturaleza. A las 17.30-18 de la tarde vienen tucanes y empezaba la batalla de canto. Ronald es un amor y ayuda en todo lo q uno necesita.Un placer haber podido compartir ratito de la cena con el. La casa es preciosa con vistas al volcan, al lado hay un rio. Simplemente es maravilloso alojarse en plena naturaleza y compartir ratos con gente local fuera de bullicio
