Mirta apartment

It is a spacious apartment right in the center of Belgrade (Republic square), has two big rooms independent from each other (one with a double bed and lots of storage, another one with a folding sofa and zero storage), each with an access to the balcony (Serbs all smoke, but there is no smell in the apartment), a TV salon without windows (yes it is weird) which we used as an entrance, a small functional kitchen and a big bathroom with a shower and a bidet. There is a washing machine, a dishwasher, a cooking surface, a microwave and lots of other appliances we did not use as there is a deli with decent home-style cooked food right downstairs. The building is beautiful and historical, has an elevator. The apartment has nice eclectic Balkan style with lots of very different paintings and lots of small flowery carpets, we really liked it, very different from your usual minimalistic hotel rooms. The light is bright and good, too, something you will not get in a hotel. The owner is very nice and helpful. Wifi was good, AC did work in each room. Early night brings extremely noisy bikers, but they soon go to bed and it is quiet again. You should know however that even if the apartment sleeps 4, hardly two can eat at a small glass table, and chairs are extremely uncomfortable (cushions do help), so do not plan to feed a big family with big dinners. Location is very central, but maybe not what you expect: Belgrade has no subway, and buses stop mostly elsewhere, so lots of walking, also up and down, and taxis. But the main shopping street, the fortress and the main art museum are all just next door.

Srdjan is a great host with a very nice appartment, perfect location. Everything was perfect!
