I had a wonderful stay in Balestrate. The apartment was perfectly located, modern, comfortable, and clean. The only issues with the apartment itself were that 1) it didn’t have many windows for natural lighting, and 2) it seemed to only have LED lighting, without any lamps. Otherwise, it had a well appointed kitchen, and a comfortable bed. For me, in the summertime, it was a great refuge, a bit cave-like, and a great place to get deep rest. Very quiet.. the property management issue and communication was a major pain… Hence the following paragraph: I reserved the property via Vrbo. After I reserved it, I realized it would suit my schedule better to move my entire reservation back by one day. I first asked VRBO if I could change my dates. They told me to contact the host. I clicked the button that said “contact host,” and waited… And waited… when it was almost time to check in, the local property manager sent me a message via WhatsApp to welcome me and give me check-in directions. I asked him if I could change the date, and he said that I had to contact Vrbo! I tried reaching VRBO again, and they told me that I had to contact the host…I continued to inquire with the local property manager, who told me that the property was actually managed by another company, called “holiday world,” apparently located somewhere in Spain or Germany. When I sent them an email at the address he provided, the response said “we will get back to you in 7 days…” I never got to change my dates.
