Angela splendid villa surrounded by forest and 200 meters from the sea

We've used this property on several occasions. The host Mario is very attentive, helpful and readily available from a WhatsApp message. The property itself is furnished and equipped with everything you need. The outside areas are great for sun bathing, relaxing and barbecuing. The location is great with just a 500 metre walk to the beach. If you like to walk you can be in town centre of Balestrate in about twelve minutes or in three minutes by car. Balestrate is a lovely seaside town with plenty of amenities, great restaurants and bars and the people are friendly and helpful. If you want to venture further you'll definitely need a car and we did our big shop at Lidl which is about fifteen minutes drive. If I had one negative to mention it would be the air conditioning, there is only one unit in the lounge and it is not adequate to cool the entire house, we've always struggled to ventilate or cool the house but this year I purchased a large electric fan and placed it on the bedside cabinet which did improve our sleep but still fell short of being comfortable. Overall I'd recommend this property and I'm sure we'll be back again in the future.

The property was adequate for our stay. It was clean and comfortable. One thing I would say is due to the properties location make sure you hire a car as we had issues with our booked car and and was left without one, this made things rather difficult, for example shopping and going back and forth to the town. The sea is a short walk away which is great, behind the property there are woods and it is fantastic if you like the sounds of nature. The surroundings and environment are beautiful and this location allows you to have a nice, quiet, private and if you wish romantic vacation. The only thing I would suggest is a few things could be improved, for example, there was no ironing board, kitchen utensils are limited and the ones in place were of little use and although there was a barbecue in the garden there were no barbecue tools to cook with and we had to utilise the kitchen utensils. Our host Mario was very attentive and resolved any issues that arose, which were minimal, on one occasion we lost internet connection which he quickly got reconnected and on another occasion the neighbours alarm wouldn't stop ringing but he contacted the owners to switch it off. Lastly, having rented other properties and based on previous experiences, some simple items in place would improve the experience. I rented a house in Catania and the host had put a bottle of wine and water in the fridge, some local ice cream, a packet of biscuits, some local fruit and veg, a packet of pasta and sauce, there were condiments in the cupboards and all cleaning products and toilet rolls were in situ. We arrived at 2330, there was nothing in the house and all shops were closed, when you've travelled for hours to reach your destination these little things would have made a massive difference. Overall, we had a great holiday and I'd give this property four out of five stars!
