On evenings with clear skies, stars and constellations can be admired from the bedroom window. The accommodation is ideally situated, a supermarket and shops are within walking distance, restaurants and bathing establishments are just over 1 km away. The motorway to Catania or Messina is just over 5 km away and the railway station about 1.5 km.
Approximately 2 km from the flat is the town of Giarre; starting from Via Callipoli, the main street lined with shops and bars of various kinds, you can reach Piazza Duomo where the cathedral is located, the church of Sant'Isidoro, a neoclassical building with a façade made entirely of white Comiso stone. In Giarre, it is also possible to rent bicycles to explore the neighbouring municipalities.
In less than 10 minutes by car, it is also possible to reach Riposto, famous for its tourist port, from which boat or caique excursions depart, with lunch on board and a stop for a swim in the sea.
From Mascali, it is also easy to reach the towns on the eastern slope of Etna, such as Sant'Alfio and Zafferana, particularly popular in the summer season. But also Catania, a Baroque city of great historical and monumental interest, and Taormina, a picturesque municipality in the province of Messina, reachable by motorway or the SS114 state road, which is one of Sicily's most important international tourist centres due to its natural landscape, marine beauty and historical monuments.
