Immeuble et appartement vieillissants. Un bon coup de propre serait un plus. Le niveau de propreté est très moyen.

The apartment was well located, with a sea view as described. Very clean & well equipped, everything we needed for a great holiday. However, 3 things detracted from our experience.

Firstly, there was a minor issue with the key fob for the car park, which should have been in the apartment, but was not there, so we had to go back to the agency. Also it was not made clear where oue allocated car park was. This was a minor issue, but the next incidents were not acceptable. We had difficulty in talking as our French was limited, but this has never been a problem in numerous visits to France in 40 years. Secondly, the oven would not work, we tried to report this by phone, but nothing happened, so we had to eat out. Thirdly, the apartment block was being repainted, for 3 days & 2 nights the bedroom windows and shutters were completely sealed shut with plastic sheeting so we could not see out or have fresh air, also there was a strong smell of paint. If we had known this we would not have booked. We complained to the Agency; "Allo Vendee" in St Gilles Croix de Vie, and followed this up with an email, but had no response. In summary, do not use Allo Vendee agency, they seem uninterested in customer care.
