Hotel Ponta Plaza Conference & Spa

Everything was amazing, especially the pool.

When the rooms next door close their doors the building shakes.

AC created weird sounds after couple of hours of work at night so I had to open the balcony door, but the curtains are not blackout and the wind created noise

Great location right on the beach. Very clean, we had a super lady who did an excellent job of our room each day. The breakfast was very varied, lots of different salads, hot dishes, desserts and it was open till 11am. We chose a sea facing room with balcony and it was a really good size, plenty of space for clothes and to store luggage. Settee, small table and a large comfortable bed. Lovely power shower and nice toiletries. A small mini fridge in the room which we could also use to put our own beers in. The pool area was relatively small, however, still a good size to cool off after a hot day sightseeing. The beach is a pebble beach so best to pack beach/water shoes if you don’t like walking on pebbles. The hotel has its own section of beach which is free to use and provides beach towels, beds and an umbrella. We went end of June and although not a big area, there was no rush for beds, you could get down there around 10-11 am and there was still availability.Appreciate this may change in peak season. Good changing rooms and toilets for guests to use on the beach which were kept clean throughout the day. The hotel will arrange taxis for you at a good price. A couple of local supermarkets within a few minutes walk and lots of choices to eat and drink in all within strolling distance. The walk into Budva old town is approx 50 minutes, there is a tunnel which is tricky to find but makes it walkable, a taxi in is about 10 euros.

We haven’t anything bad to say about the property. The area is developing fast so there was some building noise going on. Also, and this is purely personal, the clubbing style music choice by a neighbouring restaurant wasn’t great as it seemed really loud on our balcony even though it wasn’t so bad at street level. However, as already said, this was personal and some people may love it! Also, not anything to do with the hotel so was unsure whether to put this in the review or not. Despite this, we would most definitely look to come back again and would recommend it to family and friends.

The hotel interior is good, it is located on the front meters away from the beach, the basement door is very handy for the beach, easy access to the toilets when using the beach. The reception staff are incredibly welcoming and helpful organising taxis. Breakfast offered a range of options and varied each day.

Breakfast needs to be served much earlier than 8am to allow those leaving early to fuel up before leaving. The late opening of the pool at 10am is disappointing, especially for young children. The allocated 2 lanes on the beach for Ponta Plaza feels very poor, compared to the shared/neighbouring hotel Sea Star which has a bar and staff accommodating guest needs - Ponta Plaza has neither and feels neglected. The room did not offer free water or robes which was disappointing. We had a side sea view room which overlooked a building site - this was not mentioned when booking, when I enquired with the manager, he didn't seem bothered at all. A personal complaint we had as a family is that the beach is simply too busy, there is too much construction taking place, is half developed, generally feels chaotic - not our scene really. This was certainly not helped by a bar located very close to the hotel which played unnecessarily loud music until 1am each day.
