We found the area was nice and quiet, relaxing which was just what we needed. We had everything we needed, plenty of cooking equipment to be able to make meals and the hot tub was lovely, there was also lots of steaming apps on the tv to log in on which was nice for movie nights, would 100% revisit
Upon arrival we struggled to make entrance due to the lock on the gate being quite old and stiff so this could do with being changed. I also found that when cleaning the dishes the tea towels had a bit of a funky smell but compared to the rest of the trip this is only minor, it wouldn’t stop us from returning

Hot tub was great, nice a private, lodge was clean and tidy and spacious for our daughter to play.
I liked as a property as a whole, the WiFi was ok but didn’t affect stay.

Nice and spacious
Cobwebs and leaves on veranda could have been cleaned off before arrival

Location is handy for getting into York
Main selling point over other lodges was the hot tub but we only used it once as the foisty smell is very off putting The main double bed was extremely uncomfortable and had to move into the the other bedroom in the middle of the night
