'Allambee=' Heritage cottage in trendy South Hobart

The whole cottage is absolutely beautiful and great location. We had an amazing dinner at vanidols across the road. I thoroughly recommend Southside fish and chips, I had a grilled chicken wrap however the fresh fish and chips looked so good! Retro vibe with such good customer service.

The parking as in no options for osp.

The hosts have done an outstanding job of decorating and presenting this property. We felt like we were living in our own home. Congratulations on what you have achieved and thank you for all the time and attention to detail. One of the very best properties we have stayed in.

And now for the 'elephant in the room'. As much as it really pains us to do so, in all fairness we have to mark this property down significantly due to the parking or rather lack thereof. The description of the property that is available to read prior to booking says that parking is available. However, once you receive the check instructions (ie after booking, and the day before you arrive) you find out that parking is 'shared' with the neighbors (just how many we are not sure) on a 'first in best served' basis, ie parking is NOT guaranteed. We had to park on the street, in some cases at a considerable distance from the property for about half our stay. Also, street parking is time limited, so while it is possible to park overnight, you better be up and out early before the time limits kicks in at 8:00am. The day we left, we had to lug our two large suitcases etc. a couple of hundred meters down the street. Also, if you do manage to park on the property, it is a very narrow driveway, and you have to back out into oncoming traffic, with a blind corner on the passenger side of the car, and a big (yellow) steel pole jutting out about a meter into the already narrow driveway on the driver's side, just at the point that you have to start turning your car to enter the street. Another couple of more minor points that need to be mentioned: (1) three teabags (all herbal) seems unnecessarily cheap to us for a 4-night stay and (2) anyone with a mobility issue also needs to know the stairs to the bedrooms are steep and narrow (be really careful coming down) and it is highly unlikely that you will be carrying anything larger than your cabin baggage up these stairs,

Just fyi- one bedroom doesn’t have a door Also on our stay a major road works were happening outside- starting at 1830 til 0630- so we had a lot of machine bodies and people shouting. For two of our three nights this was not good at all- being woken up by someone shouting at co workers, heavy machinery trying to go to sleep. I contacted the agent and they knew nothing of it but it’s been planned since last November - well before I a made a booking. They made no offer of compensation so it was a major ket down. It’s on a major road also- so it’s not quite the ideal house I had imagined. We also had to put our the bins out at their request, and told to clean up stuff (not bed linen)
