Ness Castle Lodges

Unwahrscheinlich toll am Fluss gelegen! Ein paar Minuten weg von Loch Ness und Inverness. Wer eine ruhig gelegene Oase zur Entspannung sucht ist absolut richtig! Die Unterkunft war klasse, sauber und top ausgestattet.

Der Komfort, die Lage und die Möglichkeiten kosten entsprechend. Ist aber angemessen!!!

The lodges are set in a magnificent location on river Ness. A path is accessible that will bring you on a long walk along the river: i suggest to advertise this to guests, because it was one of the highlights of our stay! Lodges are spacious, clean, and equipped with all necessities. They have a mountainy-feeling. There is no one at check-in but everything is clear, well-communicated, and well-organised. Marvelous garden which is worked on everyday, and possibility to fish.

It wasn't very clear if the tap water is drinkable: I found a sheet in the guidebook which said that the water comes from a private source, and is therefore less safe than public water. So for precaution we avoided drinking it and went to buy it last minute – but a clear indication as to whether it is actually drinkable or not would definitely help! Also I couldn't find a hairdryer I want to stress these are only suggestions, our stay was amazing, a 10/10 and we absolutely LOVED the place, would recommend to anyone and especially families!

What we loved most about the location was the beautiful and peaceful setting along the River Ness. The surrounding nature is stunning, with plenty of opportunities for lovely walks, especially with the dog. The combination of peace, space, the river, and the beautiful scenery made this location truly special for us.

What disappointed us most was not the location itself, which is absolutely beautiful, but the condition and cleanliness of Benula. Considering the price we paid, we expected a much higher standard. The kitchen had crumbs and coffee stains, there were cobwebs in the rooms and bathroom, and some of the towels did not feel fresh or properly clean. Finding someone else’s fake nail inside the washing machine was particularly unpleasant and frankly disgusting. The property also shows clear signs of overdue maintenance, including peeling paint. For the amount charged, the level of cleanliness and upkeep simply wasn’t good enough.
