Shared bathroom was dirty and unkempt. Neighbor’s light direct into window. Window blinds missing part at peeking height.

The house smelled like weed and smoke when I got there despite the no smoking policy. The bathrooms were not clean. I ended up not staying there at all because there was ants and bugs from floor to ceiling on the wall outside my room. Customer service was rude and not helpful at all. I asked to cancel the remainder of my trip and they denied it with no explanation or accountability from Hotels.com. I would not stay here, nor would I recommend anyone else stay here ever. This is a very cheaply renovated home and they do not take good enough care of it to call it a hotel. I think Hotels.com should remove them from their website completely. Hotels.com should be holding them accountable for their very poor service.

Garbage cans overflowing in the bathroom area. No paper towels replacement in 2 days! Tweaker blinds in bedroom! No fan. In and out traffic all night and early morning. Don’t fall for the cheap price trap! This place was ghetto!

I flew into Eugene to visit family and this place was perfect for me. It reminds me of a typical European hostel, low key but cozy. The location was the biggest draw -- right across the street from one bakery and only a 10-15 minute walk to another. Easy breakfast! You can walk to campus, to the 7/11, to see a movie or go to a bookstore. If something is too far away, you can walk to the bus station and get a day pass for only $3 to travel anywhere in the city. Truly a little piece of Europe right here in the US!

I was In Eugene, Oregon for the 2025 Eugene Marathon and had the opportunity to stay at the Hotel Counting Z's.....What a GREAT EXPERIENCE.... Very convenient for travel from and to the airport - not need for a rental car as there are multiple bicycle rental stations for travel and exploring. From the onset, the Hotel Counting Z's has great street presence on 11th Ave with a short distance walk up High Street to 6th Avenue for Marathon Participant Pick up and transportation to Haywood Field on Sunday AM. Also, it was an easy walk up Oak Street to the Eugene Saturday Market. This made for a quiet and peaceful sleep before the Sunday AM Marathon... The Hotel Counting Z's has 3 stories with multiple common bathrooms per floor. The queen size room on 3ed floor was more than enough space and had a small closet and comfortable chair for relaxing...There was even a common kitchen and meal room on the 2en floor with kitchen and multiple coffee makers. The kitchen provided many opportunities to engage other runners Will look forward to another stay should my running roads takes me to Eugene....THANKS *****

I only have positive feedback about my two-night stay weekend stay. Apparently, the former iteration of this guest house/hostel went through a sketchy patch as some prior reviews indicate. So I was hesitant. The pre-arrival communication was clear and helpful. Most of all, the facility is extremely clean and secure. One can tell that someone is taking pride in the place as is reflected my the cleanliness and attention to detail. My room was 305, very near the bathroom and the queen bed was comfortable. Both Friday and Saturday nights I slept well, in complete silence. I stored some items in the immaculate common kitchen fridge and freezer on the second floor. Oddly, I never saw any of the other guests, and I wondered whether only a couple other rooms might have been occupied. PS Don’t miss, Panditas restaurant next door, really excellent and unique. I’d happily book Z’s again.

When i was assigned a room and a code to get into my room i went to the door and put it in and when i opened the door there was already 2 people inside. It was very awkward because they were getting ready to be intimate and i walked in on them because that was the room i was assigned.

Close to downtown and super walkable! On street parking is free after 6pm, but you will need to Rochambeaux your stay partner at 7am to see who has to go out and feed the meters. Charming property. The coffee shop/bakery right across the street is delicious.

It used to be such a nice Airbnb. It used to be very clean. It used to be all set up in the game room. It used to be a really nice place. It is the complete opposite now. I was very disappointed. I’ve stayed there many many times, but it’s been a long time Since i’ve stayed, and it has gone downhill to the extreme the people next-door to us were rude banging on our wall. I have pictures of how disgusting the bathrooms were our room was although somewhat clean the pillows had yellow stains on them and the window were broken along with the shades. There was shady people out front smoking on all hours. The house is very old so you hear every little thing there was a lot going on there I used to give this place a five star review and now I’m giving it a one if that next time I would rather go to motel six then to stay there.

You get what you pay for. When arriving, parking can be a bit confusing. Some spots are metered, some free to use and a parking lot directly across. Which opens at 6pm and can only be paid in 10 hour increments. There is no elevator on the property and it is a very noisy creaky building. The property is communal living so the kitchen and restrooms/showers are shared. Some cleaner than others. The kitchens weren’t unkempt but they didn’t feel clean either. There was also a note on the fridge complaining about others stealing food. The room itself is fairly small and the walls are thin. During my stay it stayed quiet from about 11pm-6am with noisy guests in the morning. We got a room directly next to the stairs and the sound of steps were very loud. You’re also provided with towels but you may need to call and request extras if you have more than one person in the room. I do also wish the towels were nicer quality, but they worked. The area is nice, but there are unhoused people in the streets. However my partner and I walked down the street late at night and weren’t bothered. Level Up Bar/Arcade and the Macdonald Theater is an 8 minute walk. As well as some food places nearby. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but you need to call the helpline in order to get help, messaging will take longer. Overall it was okay for a 2 night stay and very convenient. I would stay there again in a pinch but would splurge on something a little nicer if I could afford it.

No outdoor signage or parking lot. No front desk, when you reserve, you're sent an email with a form to fill out (including picture id) and return before you get codes to enter building and your room. As I was coming off the highway, it took a 45 minute phone call to process this and get into my room. Room was not cleaned, I couldn't get TV to work.

We stayed here before, so knew roughly what to expect. However, on arrival in the room, there was a smell of urine (which either dissipated during the stay, are we just got used to it). We registered as two people, but they only left us one bath towel and no hand towels or washcloths. I called the helpline to complain about the towels, and to their credit, they did leave us two more towels the next day, but they also left the room unlocked!!! (The automatically locking door was flaky, and we found we had to be very careful to assure that it was locked before leaving the room.) I used one of the common toilets, and it was a little cloudy before using it, and afterwards, I found it is not flushing properly. There was a plunger there, and I tried three times to get to plunge, to no avail. That took a couple days before they resolved it. Also, somebody had colored their hair and left a mess in one of the common sinks. That took 2 days to be cleaned up. And lastly, they did not have any decaf coffee. All in all, not a pleasant stay. Even though we are cost conscious, and it is the cheapest place to stay in Eugene, we will not be staying there again!!
