This area is a paradise for dogs and there are so many amazing walks on your doorstep, saunter up the Percuil River with views over to St Mawes, the picturesque Froe Creek, or on the other side of the headland is a mixture of secluded coves and beaches, majestic cliffs and St Anthony Lighthouse, but please make sure your faithful hound is under control near the cliffs!

By land, the nearest village is Portscatho, about a 10 minute drive away, there are a couple of great pubs, some cafes and art galleries, a few hotels, and a local shop, it is a vibrant local community and there are regular events during the year. From Place slip you can catch a regular ferry during the season that links St Anthony with St Mawes and onward ferry connections to Falmouth. A quaint cottage in a very quiet location, perfect for accessing the beautiful walks from the doorstep. A good open plan downstairs with the bonus of a private sunny patio garden. Level off-road parking. We would definitely like to return for another holiday in the future.

Lovely little cottage. Be aware Place House next door is a wedding venue so in season you can expect at least one very noisy night! Apart from that it’s totally quiet. A few basics left would be nice, we had one J Cloth for all washing up, and one dishwasher tablet.. Logs and kindling for the stove was a nice touch but bring matches. We enjoyed our stay.

The location is great and the cottage has loads of character. There's a new kitchen but rest of cottage could do with some love and a deep clean.

We stayed at Lavender cottage last year and decided to rebook for this year because we loved the location! Unfortunately this time we were very disappointed. On arrival it was clear the place hadn’t been cleaned prior to us arriving. Lots of dead flies and cobwebs in every room. The toilet bowl was dirty, and the toilet seat was mouldy. Around the base of the sink and skirting boards was very dirty. The bathroom window was mouldy as were the walls in the bathroom and at the top of the stairs. We also had no hot water, with no instructions left on how to switch it on. Luckily we figured it out quite quickly once we located the boiler. I contacted Nicky who popped over to apologise, and I have since emailed FalCottages but I’m still awaiting a response. Needless to say I doubt we will return. It’s a shame because it’s a very sweet cottage in a lovely quiet location.
