About this house rental
Bring your extended family out on the turf covered deck on a clear night, lean back, relax, turn off the devices, phones and house lights and show them something awesome; the MOON and STARS! That’s right, with no neighbors, 40 private acres and smog free skies, the beautiful night sky may look like never before.
Next morning wake refreshed to a beautiful sunrise over the lake on the deck with a steaming cup of coffee.
This 2024 completed home is almost 1700 sq ft and has four bedrooms and two baths in the main house. Newly added fishing/swimming/boat floating dock! The house is perfect for your next family reunion (or your first!). We have everything you need with full amenity kitchen, 2’x3’ propane griddle for your steaks, burgers or pancakes and bacon. Also a charcoal grill if you prefer. Even a BBQ pit built by my grandfather in 1960 that still works great! There’s a 20’ covered picnic table and covered parking. Bring fishing poles to try for bass in the fourth best bass lake in Texas! Also full of catfish, crappie and perch. Don’t forget bikes to enjoy all our 40 ac lake front home has to offer. Explore Nocona with its New Orleans style charm and local wineries. Our favorite is the Blue Ostrich Winery just 14 miles away. It’s only 45 miles to try your luck at the world’s largest casino, Windstar.
This lake house replaces the one my grandfather built in 1960. It was a labor of love. He knew the importance of family and built this site for our annual Cunningham/Hughes reunions. The concrete table and benches are original. Our family has owned property for for 7 GENERATIONS since 1888!

We had a great time at Lake Nocona for Labor Day. The house was perfect and in a great location. We will be back.

Second time booking this property, and will not be the last. The owners are outstanding folks and will make sure you have everything you need to make your trip great. Whether you want to fish, get some sun, hike around the property or just sit back and enjoyvthe peace and quiet, this is the place. After you pull through the secure gated entry, the world gets left behind. (Still have wi-fi for the teenagers) Blackstone griddle outside, bbq pit, we took advantage of both. The kitchen is well equipped with anything you would need. Plenty of towels, beds are outstanding. I could go on and on about this property. Already planning our next weekend. Dont hesitate to try it out, you wont regret it!
