Villa Manolo Lodge, Ocean and Forest View

View down over the bay perfect, sea facing balconies were fab. Came complete with noisy toucans in the tree below our balcony every day. There is a walkable beach (steep hill) and cold drinks (we ate in town and self catered). We did a fantastic sunset snorkelling and bioluminescent snorkelling trip with https://bucaneroscorcovadotour.com, went to Cano island and Corcovado, all amazing experiences. Snorkelling in bioluminescent waters was a highlight!

A lot of miscommunication with excursions they organised, it would have easier to do this ourselves directly with the tour organisers

Groot, uitzicht was fantastisch en de mensen die het verhuren zijn super aardig. We werden heel goed opgevangen, ze waren heel behulpzaam. Het ontbijt was heerlijk. Al met al echt een zeer goede ervaring en op alle vlakken aan te raden.

De douche was dan het enige min puntje misschien je kon hem niet te hard zetten anders werd het water koud. Maar als je hem rustig aanzette was het water wel warm.

The location was great as we wanted to be away from the town of Drake but not too far (10 mins by car - $10). The staff were very friendly, super helpful and the food was also excellent. Beautiful views from the balcony of the sea as well as monkeys, hummingbirds and much more

What we liked the most was the view from the balony (we could see the sea and Drake Bay from there) and the room was nice, spacious and clean, with air-conditioning. It was also good that we had fridge and some plates and cutlery available on the balcony so we were able to prepare ourselves breakfast and dinner if we wanted.

We were quite unhappy to see that we have almost no privacy in the room - we had the king's room - from the pictures on the booking you can see a lovely view, but what you cannot really see is that the restaurant/bar is right next to it and people from there can actually see to your room. Moreover, there is a path leading to other rooms right in front of the balcony so everyone who passes by to their room can see to your room as well since the balcony is not hight at all. So the room is quite exposed, even though it looks like a private one in the pictures. Also, the breakfast and dinner offered by the place are quite expensive and unfortunately not that tasty, with small portions. We wanted to have some good, local food, but it seemed to us like they were trying to achieve some standards of a posh restaurant which was completely unnecessary and not fitting to the environment around. We were also unpleasantly surprised when we asked if we could get some food for breakfast to go when we were leaving early for Corcovado tour and we got a papaya (whole) and couple of pieces of dry toas bread and a bit of jam and we got fully charged for it in the end of our stay. The view is really nice and the staff quite friendly, that is true, but we would think twice if we were to book this place again since it does not really deliver what it promises.
