magic place in a beautiful small village on the perfect valley Christine is a great host - managing this small family hotel and she is very nice and welcoming. you get a transportation pass for your stay which very easy then going to Ortesei and tracking in the area breakfast is perfect :-) view from the room balcony is just amazing highly recommended!!

It was an exceptional property. Top notch cleanliness, extra good breakfast, super comfortable and spacious room, and on top of all super host Christine.

The location is exceptional—it effectively avoids the traffic congestion in Ortisei while offering great value for money. It is only about a 20-minute drive to reach Seceda near Ortisei. The town where the hotel is located is incredibly beautiful and peaceful. Sitting at a high vantage point, the property boasts stunning views of both the surrounding mountains and the town's charming church. The breakfast was also very thoughtful, home-cooked, and delicious. Through our chats, we learned that the house originated from their Austrian family lineage; after World War I, the area became Italian territory, which is why the hosts are fluent in both German and Italian. It was a truly wonderful stay—if I visit the area again, I would definitely choose Garni Sonneck without hesitation!

A minor downside was that there was no complimentary drinking water or electric kettle provided in the room. Even though we stayed during the summer, the nights could still get quite chilly. However, the host was extremely attentive and kindly boiled hot water for us on the first floor to make tea. They were always quick to respond, overall, we still had a wonderful stay.

We had a lovely stay at Garni Sonneck. Christina was a very welcoming host, and was always around if you had any questions or concerns. With only a 20 minute bus ride into Ortisei it was the perfect hub to get to the trail heads in no time at all. (Bus passes are free if you're staying in the Val Gardena area) The rooms were very clean and well maintained, and refreshed every day. Breakfast was good and you can get eggs made how you like them. After we checked out Christina let us park our car at the property, as we wanted to explore the area, before our drive back in the afternoon to the airport. The recommended restaurant in the hotel just across the road was also very good and great value.

As this is a small village the bus only comes once an hour. So you need to take that into account when planning your trips. As well as making sure you catch the last bus back from Ortisei at 19:33. Or it's a pricy taxi ride back.
