'Fifteen=' - Heritage Terrace in Battery Point

Great location for exploring Hobart! The house was clean and the beds were comfortable.

My Dad who is 70 and fairly fit and healthy struggled with the very steep stairs to the bedrooms, I would have liked to have this info in the description. The parking was also challenging, very awkward spot, so we ended up parking on the street half the time. Bathroom was freezing! It was winter but very drafty at the back side of the house even with the towel heated rail and the living room fire on. Generally good but could be some small improvements to make it feel more cosy.

Loved the location, walking distance of bakery, coffee, hotels, bars and shopping.

The stairs in the property are steep and felt unstable.

The location is exceptional. Close to Salamanca, shops, cafes and lots of restaurants. We slept well and it was quite warm and snug. Modern bathroom with nice amenities.

Our stay had some positives, however overall the property felt a little tired and in need of more regular attention and maintenance. I genuinely think it would benefit from the owners spending a few nights there each year themselves, as it would quickly highlight some of the practical issues guests experience. The parking area has a driveway that is shared by 4 properties, it was regularly blocked by neighbouring cars, which made coming and going frustrating at times. On arrival, the backyard unfortunately gave quite an untidy first impression, with rubbish under the stairs and the outdoor area feeling neglected. The kitchen could also use some updating and better equipment. Cooking meals was difficult with a rusty frypan, very small saucepan, blunt knives. A few clearer instructions for appliances like the oven would also help future guests. Some of the furniture and household items are showing wear, including a table that felt quite unstable and a dishwasher that didn’t fit the plates. For longer stays, additional linen and towel changes would make a big difference. These were not offered until quite late into our stay, which made washing and drying everything ourselves a challenge, especially with very limited drying options and only a few pegs I found in the gravel yard. Cleaning appliances were also very minimal, just a broom, making it difficult to properly maintain the property during an extended stay. We also noticed quite a bit of dust around, crumbs in drawers and all the cups stained. A full-length mirror would also be a great addition. The WiFi was unsecured and patchy. Overall, the property has potential, but at the moment it feels somewhat unloved and could really benefit from more care, maintenance and attention to guest comfort.
