Domus DEA Holiday Home

A lovely property, very clean, great facilities and a really warm welcome from the host. We were brought 2 cold beers and crisps on arrival and there a few treats and water for us as well. We had sole use of the garden and pool which was wonderful after a day exploring Pompeii in the heat. It’s a short walk from the station but our host offered to collect us. It’s also an easy walk to Pompeii archeological park and the town centre. It’s a nice quiet area of the town and the garden has Mount Vesuvius as a backdrop. The house had everything we needed, good shower and the air con worked really well. Our host was really helpful and gave us a map and helped get our bearings and where the supermarket was and restaurants. She also kept in touch to check everything was ok. We couldn’t have asked for more, I would definitely recommend.

The four of us slept in beds on the Mezzanine level, myself, husband and 2 sons aged 9 and 11. This wasn’t a problem there was plenty of space and the boys had a single bed each. We were able to watch TV on a night and have a glass of wine without any issue.

Everything was amazing!! The hosts (Adele and Vincenzo) were incredible and exceeded all expectations to make sure we had the most amazing holiday (our 4 month old baby’s first ever holiday!)

Nothing we didn’t like!

We were warmly welcomed by Adele en Vincenzo. They are such friendly hosts. Anything can be asked and they are of great assistance, if you need anything. The house is very clean and it has everything you need, with very good beds! There is enough space, to stay with 3-4 people. What is the best is the litlle oasis they created in the garden. A quite and private space, hortus conclusus, with view on the Vesuvio and a beautiful swimming pool. The orange trees provide nice shadows, to read a book or to rest. The bakery and a mini-Market with local products are closeby. Very practical. Vincenzo and Adele were so kind to put on a badminton net and floaties in the pool to play with our daughter (14yo). So thougthful! The city Centre is nearby (less then a km) with very good Italian restaurants. Although the house has a kitchen with all utilities, nothing can beat the Italian cuisine with honest and authentic products eg pomodori dal Vesuvio and fresh pasta. Everything is easily accesible by public transport. The circumvesuviana train (get in at Pompei santuario or Scavi) can take you to Napoli and anywhere in between. Looking for an organised day trip? You can book on the spot (around Vesuvio) to see the Amalfi coast, Capri, Herculaneum or anything else. The minivan also drives you to the Vesuvio if you don’t feel taking the train to Ercolano and public transport. You can also book a guided tour of the Pompei Ruins. And after a whole day, there is the garden and house to relax! So if you are looking for a good place to stay, a base for a cultural cultural holiday in a quite house with private garden: stay with Adele and Vincenzo! Aan alles is gedacht! Als je zelf iets vergeten bent mee te nemen op vakantie, dan is het aanwezig. De ontvangst en communicatie is vlot en vriendelijk. De accommodatie zelf heeft veel comfort, prima bank, lekkere bedden, goede douche. Op loopafstand van het centrum en ingang pompei archeologische plaats.
