About this house rental
A semi-circular driveway provides ample parking. Across from the farmhouse, on the other side the driveway, is a converted barn home that is occasionally visited by the owner's family members. A short walk from the farmhouse are two ponds. Next to the swimming pond is a gazebo and a table and chairs for enjoying an afternoon picnic and swim.
Guests of the farmhouse will have the special opportunity to enjoy a variety of nature from the farmhouse and while on walks to the back of the property. Depending on the time of year, one may:
- See a riot of fireflies
- Hear the murmur of chorus frogs
- Witness the many butterflies that visit the prairie flowers
- Spot herons, ducks, geese, red-winged blackbirds, deer, woodchucks, turkeys, frogs and turtles
- Discover beautiful displays of wildflowers
- Stumble upon puffball and morel mushrooms!
Groomed walking trails lead from the farmhouse and ponds, through wooded areas and to the back of the property, which abuts the Shiawassee River. Keep an eye out for river otters, beavers, foxes and bald eagles.
After the sun goes down, venture outside and look up toward the sky for a dazzling display of stars. The property is far enough from the city lights to enjoy the night sky and to occasionally spot the Milky Way.
The property is a 10-minute drive from Owosso, MI, which offers grocery stores, a downtown shopping district, Curwood Castle, Foster Coffee, the Wrought Iron Grill, the Steam Railroading Institute, the Lebowsky Center for the Performing Arts, and the famed Shiawassee Arts Council.
