Hacienda Cosiguina is an estate with a family history dating back to 1790. Shrouded in myths and legends, the hacienda is part of the folklore of this region. Generations later, the Gasteazoro family transformed the hacienda into an eco-resort, where we offer a unique experience: a historic stay with modern comforts, immersed in the wild surroundings of the Nicaraguan tropics.
Your horseback adventure will take you through tropical mangroves in the Estero Real River Delta to enjoy one of the most fascinating experiences… swimming with the horses. (Only during the rainy season.)
The Cosiguina Volcano is located in the northwestern corner of Nicaragua.
In 1835, a violent eruption shattered the volcano’s summit, sending ash as far as Mexico and Colombia. Climbing the volcano is an accessible hike with gentle slopes leading to breathtaking views.
End the day around a campfire with your friends or loved ones… the Hacienda offers this activity so you can enjoy a magical evening, eating s’mores and listening to the hooting of owls under a canopy of stars.
Playing pickleball with friends or your children is an easy and fun experience that even the youngest kids can enjoy. Hacienda Cosiguina offers all kinds of court activities so you can have fun with your friends.
For sports enthusiasts, kayaking is a great way to get some exercise while spotting exotic birds such as flamingos, crested caracaras, herons, and doves in their natural habitat.
Whether you’re a beginner or a more experienced surfer, the waves at Mechapa Beach offer a variety of spots for surf enthusiasts to enjoy. The Pacific Ocean laps against the 26 km of deserted beach, just a 15-minute drive from the Hacienda.
Included in the price are the services of our top-notch chef, Silvita; her personal butler, Alfredo; and daily room cleaning by Carlita. You’ll be free to walk throughout the entire estate and visit the peanut fields and orchards. Horseback riding, volcano tours, and kayaking are not included in the price. We can prepare a menu for you and do your grocery shopping if you prefer.
