About this cottage rental
The ideal spot to spend time with friends and family. The fully stocked kitchen with both indoor and outdoor seating. Large decks at the house and at the lake. A large dock to enjoy the water. Catch a nice bass off the end of the dock.
An open concept log home decorated in a hunting lodge motif with four bedrooms offers room for everyone. Three bathrooms means no lineups! There’s an exercise area in the loft with yoga mats and a rowing machine. A chest full of games or a large screen TV for rainy days.
Beautiful sunsets to be enjoyed from the hot tub, the porch swing, the deck or down at the lake around the fire pit or sitting on the dock. The night sky bright with stars.
So many spots to relax as well as so many opportunities to enjoy the surroundings. Kayak, canoe, float or snorkel. The water is clear and the bottom is hard limestone. For those who want to fall asleep to the sound of the waves along the shore there is a hammock and a sleep bunkie at the lake.
BBQ and pellet smoker for preparing everyone’s favourite meals.
Great drinking water from the deep water well.
Complimentary egg service. Free range chickens living on the property will provide fresh eggs each morning.
Lots of space and privacy to make memories that will last a lifetime.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, we really enjoyed feeding the chickens, the decor was very impressive. The kitchen is well stocked, you don’t need to bring extras like plastic bags, foil, containers for leftovers, they even left condiments mayo, ketchup ect. We got a taste of using the smoker, thanks now my husband wants to buy one lol. The waterfront was really nice and relaxing as was the hot tub. There was a fire ban on so we didn’t have one but looked inviting. I would highly recommend this rental. John was very responsive to any questions we had. Thanks again, The Metcalf’s and O’Bryan’s.

We were a group of 8 going to a family wedding at the hop farm less than a km down the road. The property fit the bill perfectly and the host (John) was fantastic with timely responses and excellent guidance (Charlie’s Restaurant is definitely a hidden gem … but likely not for long).It was great to have a beautiful open area to hang out as a group and then have our own private spaces, with my wife and I sleeping in the loft area and all others with their own room. The basement room (in-law suite) was perfect for one of my brothers - it was a little musty on arrival but cleared up quickly with the screen door open. A nice sitting area by the lake was also available.Like other reviewers, the chickens were a highlight - providing fresh eggs and plenty of entertainment.Anyhow, the place worked out perfectly for our crew and no hesitation recommending.

We were a group of six adults and a baby and the house worked great for us. Nice size, great kitchen, nice deck, and nice dock down at the lake. Very peaceful and private.

Check-in process was flawless, the house was spotless and the kitchen had everything you needed to make your stay memorable. It was big enough for my family and then some. And the “Girls” were the icing on the cake, it was by far the most entertaining thing to do with a 2.5 year old-when we got up in the morning we let them out of the chicken coop, then feed them and then check later to see if they laid any eggs. By the end of our stay the “Girls” would come and greet you and let you pet them. Great memories for sure. After our event we were able to invite some family members to come and relax at the lake side dock and swim, fish, kayak or just sit and talk about your family weekend together and end it with a bbq up at the house. Would definitely recommend this log home to anyone and would like to stay here again down the road, thank you.
