The location and the quiet garden and woodland were perfect for us and our dogs. Host was also very helpful and gave us space, even though they lived right next to the property. They might have thought us bonkers tracking out dogs in the darkness through the grounds using flashlights, but we love training our dogs and with the heat the darkness was just about right in temperature 🙈

The house was holding heat too much. Obviously the hottest week of the year didn’t help. Some more space cooling is needed especially for the first floor of the property. There was literally no breeze even at night which made cooling down the house impossible. Thankfully we had our own camper coolers with us which we used to get air circulating and then finally releasing the heat out of the house.

The location was absolutely beautiful and the house was lovely and friendly and warm and very good for our dog.

We really missed a shower. Staying there as a family of four getting us all washed in a bath every day was a bit tricky, however there was always plenty of hot water The Kitchen wasn't very well stocked for cooking in, however when we needed a bread knife the owner brought one round for us to use.

Quiet location, parking available in gravel courtyard, large and spacious accommodation, cookies, prosecco and beers as a welcome pack, comfy beds.

Unable to close curtains on a couple of the large windows properly to block out the early morning daylight. Was strange getting used to the open plan bathroom but very spacious and missed having a walk in shower but we coped ok.

Polecat Barn is a charming retreat nestled in a picturesque area, surrounded by fields that offer a peaceful and scenic escape. The host went above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed, making our stay even more enjoyable. The barn itself was the perfect blend of comfort and style, providing an ideal setting for relaxation. It's a hidden gem for anyone looking to unwind in nature while enjoying a well-equipped, cozy space. Highly recommend for a tranquil getaway, wish we could have stayed longer!
