Authentic 3BR apartment in Downtown, Cairo

The house was great, beautiful and the host was very kind.

Don't take the shuttle option. Or, if you do, haggle. They will ask 5 times the price for what it is worth and send a bad car that comes way too late. I think it is part of the culture, but seeing that there are not many reasons to come to downtown Cairo now the GEM is built, I would change it and start offering a fair price.

Location was great and convenient. Walking distance to the main attractions like Nile river, Cairo tower, Tahrir Square, Zamalek, etc Apartment was clean and comfortable with everything we expected. Same like in the pictures. Beds were very comfortable. Wifi connection was great.

the location was good even though the property is in a one way street. Getting in and out of the property via uber required extra effort as it was one way street. Close to many eateries and Tahrir square. The rooms were big enough for a family of 4.

Street is noisy and place was little dirty, house is in an area which has workshops and mechanics. No hand wash soap was provided in any of the toilets and there was hardly any water pressure in shower. We took help from the host to setup some tours until we realized they were overcharging for everything. 15-20% commission is ok but at times it exceeded 40%. For e.g., they charged $47 for airport transfer while taxi charged $16 and uber charged $8. We lost something in the apartment, host didn’t care to help us retrieve that.
