The Fairytale Cottage at High Rock Castle

The gate code and door code were easy to remember for us, the castle grounds are gorgeous, garden art is abounding, decorations and comforts so full of style!

Almost everything was perfect. However, while he slept better than at home, the pillows, sheets and comforter were made with polyester, which made me sweat.

I loved this location/experience so much. We visited as part of my daughter's birthday celebrations-the bithday was dragon themed-and the location was amazing. My children loved exploring all of the little magical details inside of the cottage as well as being near the castle and able to visit the dragon sculptures.

I had some difficulty with booking.com's system and ended up leaving some items behind on checkout because my kids were trying to squeeze out every last minute of our stay. The Lady of the Estate was very gracious in working with me through both the booking difficulties and in returning to locate forgotten glasses.

Very creative decoration. Comfortable beds. Coffee, tea, etc., nice amenities.

Listing is unclear that the castle is a completely separate accommodation, it isn't an open building. All outside seating is tied to the main house, so no place to sit outside in the shade. When we arrived there were five cars in the driveway and we weren't able to get to our parking spot. We know it's a pet friendly accommodation, but it's a bit unnerving for a 75 year old woman to have a full sized German Shepherd running around the property. There's a water pump or something that runs every 10-15 minutes. I think it did stop sometime in the middle of the night though.
