Lower batter farm

Super quirky, we loved it. We had a lovely weekend away as a couple. Super pretty and quiet. Just what we wanted. Information was provided the day before we stayed, with local information and facilities. Super friendly family, very inviting :). Plus a later checkout than normal if needed which was great, although sadly we was in a rush and had to get back early so didnt utilise that time.

We enjoyed a 1 night stay at Lower batter farm and honestly we were blown away! Parking available and easy to find, tucked away nicely just up the track of the hosts property. The communication from the host was first class, providing information and recommendations in and around the property that made the stay so easy! Beautiful features including “the globe” with camp chairs to star gaze on a clear night, the Hot tub/ cold plunge (an extra charge but well worth it!) and the fairy lights that led up the garden path created the perfect ambiance when it got dark. The host set music upon arrival and had the heating on so the hut was warm and cosy soon as we walked in, a lovely touch. The property is a good size for 2, with clever features to allow cooking and a bathroom to fit in. We cooked a M&S Dine in and Breakfast on a 2 ring Hob + Oven for 2. No microwave or toaster but neither really an issue to be missing. Fridge with ample space to keep food and drinks for the night too. The best is huge and very comfortable with a TV well equip to watch something when tucked up for the evening. If you like cats too you will absolutely make friends as they are incredibly friendly and well natured, they like to greet the guests and keep you company during your visit but never intrusive. Just a short drive from the Peak District this one is a hidden gem, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and hope others will too!

Missing maybe a tray to eat from as no table to sit to, salt/pepper and maybe oil to cook with. None of these are a dealbreaker as local pubs and restaurants aren’t far away at all. To be honest I imagine if we’d asked the hosts for these too they’d have absolutely accommodated, they were incredibly helpful!

Wow, what an amazing find! We loved everything about our stay. Gorgeous location inside and out. We wandered up to the globe and enjoyed the sun for a couple of hours before spending a lovely night in the comfiest bed! It has everything you can think of, lots of cute little touches.

It was perfect!

We absolutely loved our 2 night stay here, and like the other reviews have said, the photos don't do it justice. The cosy cabin is set back from the rest of the world, and you are just in your own space, with nature. The grounds and gardens are beautifully maintained, surrounded by wildlife, and you can just sit and listen to the stream that runs under the cabin. Amy welcomed us and showed us everything we needed to know for our stay, and was on hand when we needed her, but otherwise left us to it. The cabin had everything we needed, including a big comfy bed, air con, and towels to dry us off from our dip in the hot tub. Bonus points for Larry the cat who came to visit us, and followed us up to the globe, as we watched the stars at night.
