Central Train Station Apartment

A great place, value for money. A safe area. Bus, train and Bolt easily accessible. There were lots of supermarkets nearby. Old Town was 7-8 mins away by cab. The hostess was extremely helpful, friendly and easily reachable by WhatsApp. My card didn’t work so she was okay with me leaving the cash for the city tax in the room before I left. The room was big, had a fridge, microwave, hot plate, dishes, kettle, linen and towels, AC and heater. Definitely recommend.

Everything was pretty great, no complains as such. The thermostat was a bit confusing but figured it out with our hostess’ help.

Piso acogedor, nuevo, espacioso, elegante y limpio. Es un espacio diáfano que une dormitorio, cocina y salón. El baño es nuevo, completamente reformado, con ducha alta, toallas y útiles de aseo. La cama es muy cómoda, hay televisión de pantalla plana con más de 200 canales, incluidos canales internacionales. En la cocina hay hervidor de agua, microondas, y nevera. Está además bastante equipada. Buena iluminación, ventilador de suelo. Buena comunicación con el anfitrión, nos permitieron dejar las maletas antes de la hora del check-in, y ofrecieron agua fresca de cortesía. Diana muy amable. La estación de tren y autobús está a menos de 10 minutos, así como la central del bus urbano que lleva al centro histórico.

Está algo escondido, y puede costar encontrarlo, a pesar de las buenas instrucciones. Por otro lado, la tasa se ha de abonar el día de la llegada por banca electrónica, no hay otro sistema. La mesa y sillas de la cocina son algo incómodas para comer, muy altas.

Excellent location, 5 minutes walk from train station and bus station (we arrived by train), so easy access to many destinations (old city less than 10 minute bus ride away -> cost = £0.80 -> buses free on Fridays). Apartment recently refurbished and very nice; large open plan bedroom / kitchen area; breakfast bar; fridge; hob; microwave; kettle; enclosed balcony; very well appointed bathroom. Quiet area even being close to the stations. Shops, restaurants, and local supermarkets close by.

The only (ultimately minor) issue we had was trying to pay the city and tourist tax to the hosts -> they use Revolut bank and for some reason Revolut were declining receiving the payment we were trying to make from a well known credit card provider (our card provider confirmed they were authorising payment but it wasn't going through); we had to pay through IBAN in the end which meant the hosts didn't get paid until our final day, but all's well that ends well, and the hosts were very understanding.

The apartment was clean. The building itself is poorly maintained and has a bad smell in the hallway, but you can’t fault the host for that. Yea and coffee were provided. The host responds quickly to all messages and said she will attempt to correct listing. Location is minted from the train station, and there is a convenient bus to old city.

A gross lack of amenities that were listed in the listing. This may have been a translation issue but should be resolved, because the difference between what we expected to get and what was there definitely influences my review This is not a one bedroom apartment. It is a studio suite. Pillows were lumpy and smelly despite clean linen. There is not an oven and only a mini fridge. I here were other minor issues sues which, because the owner said she will try to resolve with booking.com, I won’t list.
