Designer Penthouse - Stunning Property with Amazing Views

This is a wonderful apartment in a lovely part of the West Coast of Barbados. The apartment is fully equipped and has many thoughtful and tasteful homely touches. Rodney is a fantastic host and is rightly proud of the unique apartment he has created; he also answers messages promptly, is very flexible with arranging access to the property and likes to show you around the apartment on arrival. Furthermore, the welcome pack provided and the flowers in the apartment were amazing; it was a 5-star service throughout from my point of view. It's a 1 minute walk to the beach in Payne's Bay and you also have access to the pools and other hotel facilities at the Beach View Hotel. I could not fault the apartment or the great service that Rodney provided - I have no hesitation in highly recommending this apartment to other travellers.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE VIEW! A wonderful view of the sea from the living room and 2 of the bedrooms. The host, Rodney, was exceptional. He answered many of our questions before we arrived and took great care of us when we were there. There was a welcome basket of some local produce and Rodney brought a couple of extra things we needed without hesitation or fuss. The apartment isn’t new but was spotlessly clean when we arrived and is tastefully furnished and well equipped with everything you might need, to say the least. The apartment overlooks the main swimming pool where there are sufficient sun loungers etc and there is an also a tiki hut which serves drinks/coffee and has a few basic food items for sale too. The location is near a busy main road but after a couple of days you really do not hear the traffic much. The nearest beach is 3 minute walk and there are a few sunbeds there for rent. Swimming in the sea there is a bit tricky though due to the rocks but there are many other great beaches on the island to choose from. There isn’t much that is walkable from the apartment but there is a large supermarket about a 6 minute drive away, and a takeaway Starbucks. There are numerous restaurants and shops in the Limegrove centre which is about an 8 minute drive. A car is recommended…actually you can rent a car from a supplier on site although we chose to rent from the airport.

Sleep quality wasn’t great, not due to the road noise but due to the sound of neighbours dragging furniture around and slamming doors. You can also hear dogs barking in neighbouring properties and roosters starting their morning chorus at 4am! Overall though the positives easily outweighed the negatives.

What I loved most about Penthouse 309 was the breathtaking ocean view from the terrace — it instantly set the tone for relaxation. The space felt warm and inviting, with thoughtful, stylish touches throughout, from the locally inspired artwork to the comfortable furnishings. It had everything we needed: a fully equipped kitchen, spacious rooms, and even beach gear, which made our time by the water effortless. The location was ideal — just steps from the beach, close to great restaurants, and an easy drive to Holetown. But what really stood out was the exceptional hospitality. Rodney, the host, went above and beyond. From helping us plan our arrival to offering local recommendations and just amazing communication overall, the service felt more like a high-end resort than a rental. It was clear he genuinely cared about making our experience special. If you're looking for a place that combines comfort, style, and a true sense of care, this penthouse delivers.
