A Heartwarming Stay at Rumah Riang — True Balinese Hospitality!

When we first arrived, the entrance looked a little different from the photos online, but the moment we stepped inside, we were welcomed into a beautiful home. Everything you could possibly need is there. The living room is spacious, with a lovely covered terrace and a wonderful swimming pool to relax by. The bedrooms are also large and equipped with good air conditioning — perfect after a warm day exploring. But the most special thing about Rumah Riang is without a doubt the incredible hospitality of Putu, Ria, and their family. From the very beginning, they made us feel completely at home. Although there’s a well-equipped kitchen, Ria prepares the most delicious Balinese meals — both lunch and dinner. She’s a fantastic cook, and nothing is ever too much for them. Every meal was different and full of authentic local flavors and made with so much love and care. During our stay, we also joined The Mayong Cultural Walk, which is an absolute must-do! Putu takes you on a fascinating journey through the rice fields of the Mayong Valley, passionately explaining everything that grows there — not just rice, but also durian, palm trees, and the intricate irrigation systems that make Balinese agriculture so special. His deep knowledge of plants, farming, and local culture is impressive, and the way he shares it — full of humor, energy, and great storytelling — makes the walk both fun and educational. He also loves to connect local words and traditions to other languages and cultures, which we Dutch visitors found especially engaging! After the walk, we were treated to another delicious homemade lunch prepared by Ria — authentic Balinese flavors at their very best. We stayed at Rumah Riang for two nights and got a beautiful glimpse into the life of a local Balinese family — full of kindness, warmth, and hospitality. It’s an experience we will never forget.

Un accueil en or, une vue à couper le souffle et une maison bien située offrant 6 couchages confortables.

Un accueil comme à la maison. La gentillesse et l’hospitalité de Putu et Ria. Très bon emplacement pour rayonner autour de Munduk. Les sites principaux sont accessibles et on est également à moins de 20 minutes de la plage. Superbe vue depuis la maison.

Von der Villa aus hat man einen wunderschönen Ausblick. Ria und Putu sowie ihre Familie sind super freundliche Gastgeber. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Das Haus selber ist mit allem erforderlichen Ausgestattet und war bei unserer Ankunft sauber. Der Pool ist sehr schön gelegen mit wunderbarer Aussicht. Wir würden hier jederzeit wieder buchen.

Fantastique accueil

Nous avons été accueillis très chaleureusement par Ria, Putu, leurs enfants et la personne qui s'occupait du ménage. C'est une famille adorable et ils nous ont fait passer un merveilleux séjour à leurs côtés. Putu nous a proposé une ballade nature dans la région, c'était vraiment la meilleure expérience que nous avons vécue dans ce domaine à Bali. Ria a cuisiné pour nous alors que cela n'était pas prévu plusieurs fois, à chaque fois nous nous sommes régalés. Le logement est gigantesque et très propre. La vue est fantastique également. Allez-y les yeux fermés. Vous serez accueillis comme des membres de leur famille. Nous espérons les revoir lors de notre prochain séjour à Bali.

Familienanschluss und pures Verwöhntwerden

Das Haus bietet allen Komfort, den man für ein paar entspannte Tage braucht. Traumhaft schöne Aussicht auf ein Tal voller Palmen. Ria und Putu heißen uns bei der Begrüßung in ihrer Familie willkommen. Und das sind keine leeren Worte! Wir dürfen uns ihrem Familienausflug in den Tempel anschließen, sie erklären uns alles liebevoll und geduldig. Eine großartige Erfahrung! Putus Cultural Walk bringt uns der Kultur rund um die Reisfelder inklusive der Zeremonien nahe. Ria und Komang, die Hausangestellte kochen beide ganz wunderbar. Komang hat uns nach Strich und Faden den ganzen Tag verwöhnt! Einfach unglaublich. Mit ihr auf dem Markt einzukaufen ist ein absolutes Vergnügen! Wir können das Rumah Riang wirklich wärmstens empfehlen und wollen auf jeden Fall wieder kommen!

If you come to Bali to Party...zoek dan wat anders, maar kom je naar Bali om het land, de cultuur, de mensen, en alle tradities te leren kennen en ervaren kom dan naar Villa Riang. Je wordt met open armen door deze familie ontvangen en binnen no-time voel je je lid van de familie zonder dat je je gevoel van privacy verliest... Het eten uitsluitend bereid met lokale producten is geweldig...en Putu brengt je op de mooiste plekken in de regio, en verteld geïnspireerd over de tradities ceremonies, de eenheid met natuur en de cosmos, en leert je deze te begrijpen en respecteren. Na vijf dagen verblijf viel het ons zwaar afscheid te nemen van deze fijne mensen, alsof we familie moesten achterlaten.. Dus kom je naar Bali...voor Bali en zijn rijke cultuur en gebruiken ...kom dan naar Villa Riang,met zijn geweldige uitzicht over de jungle....wij gaan zeker nog eens terug.
