FOTEINI RESIDENCE

A great apartment. We stayed 4 nights in late June 2026. The apartment is located 5 - 10 minutes from dock where ferries arrives. It’s an easy walk. The apartment is one street back from the main town road that basically goes along the Coast. On one side is the hustle and bustle of bars, restaurant and shops and on the other is the promenade by the water, with some dining tables from restaurants, and along which are moored private vessels, fishing boats and various tourist trip ships. It is an active and lively place and interesting to walk along This main road/ strip is very, very busy, especially in the morning to early afternoon when day trippers come in and again at night. Yet the flat picked up no noise at all from it. The flat is one of three in a renovated beautiful old building. We got no noise from above or below. It is on a street with many old buildings, some occupied and some not and in need of restoration with that sad majestic beauty that comes from being long unoccupied. Cars do not go along it. At one end of this street is a great little bakery and just round the corner on the front is a coffee place. Immediately to the right as you look out is a motor cycle, moped, scooter repair garage. Despite other comments we heard no noise from, and were never disturbed by, it. In fact, this apartment with windows closed was remarkably quiet. Pothia, the island’s capital, has an abundance of beautiful old buildings. A particular attraction was wandering the front and especially wandering around the old town with its shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. Check out Neon as it has a bowling alley ! The archeological museum is a must see with the lady of Kalymnos. There are also 2 beaches in easy walking distance. But Pothia is a working town, it does tourism as well but there’s more to it and it’s an all year place. The real tourist areas are on other parts of the island that you can get to by bus, taxi or boat.

The property was so central, in the heart of Kalymnos! The apartment had everything, stylish, clean and our host was so friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Der Gastgeber ist sehr nett und reagiert sofort, wenn man ihn anspricht. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön und gemütlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Lage ist auch super, direkt am Hafen/Promenade.

Die Küche könnte etwas besser ausgestattet sein. Sonst alles top.
