We had a great stay at Phurin Thara. So much so that we decided to extend our stay there for another two weeks. The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating. The jungle views are amazing. The room was clean and comfortable. The location worked out better than expected. We weren't sure if it would be a hassle staying away from the beach, but the beach is easily accessible after a short, enjoyable ride on a scooter. (Which is easily rented right next door to the resort at a very reasonable rate.) Overall, we would highly recommend this resort.

Here’s the revised version: --- The resort itself is beautiful and most bungalows look peaceful. Unfortunately we were given Bungalow #1, which is right next to the road and parking area — no garden view, very noisy and no privacy. It really shouldn’t be priced the same as the other bungalows. The shower head was broken, the AC leaked, and the sink tap was also leaking. After two nights we asked to change rooms; a man on site told us he would update us, but nobody ever contacted us. There is no real reception (only the cleaning lady, who was very kind but couldn’t help with bookings). Tip for future guests: request NOT to stay in Bungalow #1. The place could be great with better communication and clearer room categories.
