Mara Laguna is a resort community tucked between a lagoon and the Caribbean Sea on Ambergris Caye. Situated about a mile north of central San Pedro, it is very easily accessible. Fly into San Pedro Airport and take a one-and-a-half-mile drive north on Laguna Drive to reach the resort, or fly into Belize City 36 miles southwest and get on a water taxi or motorboat ferry to access Ambergris Caye - a trip that usually takes about 75 minutes. Close by you can visit the beautiful Boca del Rio Park, good for swimming and fishing.

Things are a little more quite north of the bridge, but our golf cart was great for the week. We had an amazing time in Belize, we saw crocodiles mating right off of the balcony. We would come back again

Really thought we got the best unit in the entire complex that has two rings of condos surrounding a lagoon. We were on the first floor of the interior ring right on the water. Our unit was clean and fairly updated. Location was north of town, right across from an excellent breakfast place. Would definitely stay there again.

Updated condo was comfortable with spacious balcony accessible from both bedrooms and living area and wonderful view of the lagoon. The kitchen was well stocked and we liked having the convenience of a dishwasher and a washer/dryer in unit.
I've been to Ambergris 4 times now and think the condo is in the perfect location. It's only about a quarter mile to San Pedro Town and about 30 minutes by golf cart to Secret Beach. There's a wonderful cafe right across the street for coffee, teas, pastries, and sandwiches that we visited frequently. There's also a little store a few steps away to pick up essentials, and bars and restaurants within walking distance.
The condo is in a gated community with dedicated parking for a golf cart. The grounds are well maintained and there's a community pool. Note there are crocodiles in the lagoon that sun near the condo. We felt totally safe so was really cool to watch them swim around and also check out the iguanas.
Overall, a wonderful stay and will definitely be back.
