8 Beachfront Mirage

The house was large and had great space for adults. The location was great, easy walk into Port Douglas and close to the beach. The concierge were available at all time and responded quickly to any queries we had.

We travelled with a 15 month old toddler and from all the images on the website we thought the fabulous outdoor eating area and pool were suitable and safe for a toddler however this was not the case at all, it was a very dangerous area for a toddler or small children as there was no protection from a child falling into a deep garden bed which was situated between the outdoor area and pool. There was only partial pool fencing and the rest of the area was open. I understand that this area complies with QLD requirements but it nevertheless is very dangerous and the area should be fully enclosed with a pool fence between the outdoor eating area and garden bed/pool. Unfortunately the images on the website show a pool fence and we thought it was all enclosed based on the photos. Had we known or been told that the pool/garden/outdoor area was not fully enclosed/pool safe we would not have booked this house for our family holiday with a toddler (or small children). On our booking it was clear that we had a toddler travelling with us so it would have been good if we were made aware of the situation at the time of the booking. I think this is very important that this is disclosed for any future booking.
