The La Woods is about a mile out of town and an auto to the Ramanashram cost INR 200, to the big temple INR 300, to the station (other side of town) INR 600. However, this meant it was very quiet and peaceful. The room was actually a suite, lounge, bedroom and bathroom, all clean and modern. There was a view of the mountain from the door and much better views by walking out along the back roads. Currency changing and laundry were available (not Sundays). Buffet breakfasts on the weekend I was there and individually prepared Indian breakfasts on the weekdays, good quality and service.
