Gyeongju Hanokstay Darak

Very simple, but feels like a recent update. Very close to the shops, restaurants, and main attractions.

Clean Rooms. Easy check-in process. There is no lobby here so we talked to the owner via WhatsApp. It was not a problem though. As we got in early, they allowed us to leave our luggage behind so we could start going around. Easy distance to shops and restaurants as well as the different sites.

Beautiful traditional Korean architecture and rooms.

Being an old style structure, noise does carry. Of our two nights there had neighbors talking and watching tv until midnight. The bathroom had just one large towel for the two of us (many smaller towels) and the sink needs a p-trap so you don’t have to keep it closed to avoid drain odors. Now, with all that said, the place was beautiful. The room temp and bed were perfect - best sleep I’ve had in a long time. The exterior is beautiful and there are lots of restaurants nearby and local sites within a reasonable walk. I would recommend it.
