The property has promise but is currently (March 2024) in need of some simple corrective work.
Very clean property, good level of comfort, especially the beds. Heating was working perfectly and a comfortable temperature was maintained throughout, there was always hot water. Located on a busy road but inside was always quiet due to newly installed double glazing. There was more than enough crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils for our group of 4. Several small supermarkets a short drive away, good restaurants & pubs in central Whickham.
The property is new on the market, we encountered a number of 'teething problems', some of which were significant, which rather impacted our stay. A full list has been provided to the agent and I understand that corrective action is already under way. Once the work is complete this should be a very good place to stay. Note that the advertised 'free parking' is a matter of finding a space on the road outside or the narrow lane behind the house.
